OMG is this from the same posters who slagged off Martinez,Sousa and Rodgers who contributed to our rise against laudrup who was sending us backwards where he had lost the dressing room and the respect of the players and most of the fans and the board.. No competition really is there..
I will never give laudrup credit for something he did not do. I use too but after a few home truths from those at the liberty then not now....All the record books will show that he was the new manager and if i could change that i would...it was Curtis and the training staff continuing playing the Swansea style that won the cup not laudrup, all he did was ruing our superb football for his own rubbish that has seen us drop like a stone....I know the facts as told to me by some very high up long term people at swansea who would know... And i have been saying it on here the feelings at the club for a long time and even when i was rubbished i kept on and now the truth is coming out....Laudrup was never an asset he was an hindrance from day one...
Michu, Pablo, Amat, Pozuello, JDG, Canas ........ all a hindrance. Every single one. Routledge .... a hindrance. Davies ..... a hindrance.
While they were here they all had my support. I've given each credit for what they did for us umpteen times in the last couple of seasons alone. I value their contribution to Swansea in this order...Martinez > Laudrup > Rodgers > Sousa. The only 2 I've criticised are Martinez and Rodgers for; - the way they left...clandestine - saying they wouldn't leave (Martinez) and then doing so - giving us a load of blarney (Rodgers) - coming back and trying to take our best players and damage our club...when they really didn't need to. Both were sneaky in the way they went about it to imo. Doesn't change the fact that each did a good job and I would never claim otherwise. It's there in black and white..on the record, just like Laudrup (however much a fool like you denies it!). You on the other hand have slagged off all and sundry all the way...such hypocrisy! Off the top of my head....Jenkins, Scotland, Graham, Laudrup. I'll leave the others to finish the list if they wish We all know this about you Dai. Hypocritical fool.
There's no doubt Laudrup brought some great players to the Liberty, and his first season was a very good one up until the cup final win, no arguments there at all from most Jacks I suspect. Now to some nitty gritty! Will Laudrup poach some of our players when he signs for his next club? Because those erecting a statue for him on here, will have some real soul searching to do....................
It's not the same situation though; 1) Laudrup never gave us any bullshit 2) Some players had never even heard of Swansea before Laudrup gave them a call. Leon was our player not Martinez'. Allen was our player not Rodgers'. 3) The way we got rid of Laudrup....not sacking him to his face, accusing him of breaching his contract to avoid paying up, refusing him the chance to say goodbye to players and staff, and not even bothering to contact him with the reasons for his dismissal officially for 9 days....not to mention the timing (as if to humiliate him), derby week and not allowing him to finish the European job he started so competently.... Means I, nor I suspect many others, would expect any favours from him in the future. I'll leave the soul searching to you.
Are these the real facts, or what you read in the media? were you privy to any of this? NO, so what you have just stated is Laudrup's version of events, which is an incomplete picture, and as our Board have not made a public statement on this yet, then all you have is one side of the story, which in the very least is an incomplete picture. As for me soul searching well don't make me laugh, I'm not erecting a monument in his memory, stop crying will you!...............
What will become of Monk if we lose tomorrow. I'm not any corner regarding the rights and wrongs of MLs sacking, until all the facts are known, based on recent results then there may be justification for Laudrupa dismissal. Following on if we do lose tomorrow then surely Monk may well lose his job, based on the results since he took over, which aren't good to say the least, he has only won one match so far shipping in 10 goals in our last 3 away fixtures. I'm all for high tempo aggressive football but it must be controlled with greater emphasis on a solid defensive display, particularly away from home. In all matches under Monk we are close to conceding 2 goals for every 1we score.
Well...I wished I had seen this topic sooner...and I'm glad the OP agrees with what I said in the article, I haven't read through the pages yet to see what others think. It speaks volumes when even the players plus Monk were coming out and saying that the Swansea buzz or the Swansea way is now back following Laudrup's departure. I've heard various things from very good sources about Laudrup and possible reasons why he couldn't inspire a performance from his players, but it's pointless mentioning them here now. We look a far better side now under Monk and it was incredible to see such a big difference after just a few days in charge. Majority of fans were fearing the worst I think under Laudrup, but there now seems to be a new wave of optimism amongst us and the players. We just need a win now against Palace and Monk's win rate in the League will be 50%. If we win, I'm confident then we can go on a good run and finish around 10th-12th.
...but you know the truth right If you and others are right about Laudrup there will be no pay out right? Nobody gives away millions of pounds if they don't need to do they? A question. Were you jumping for joy when De "Goose" scored the equaliser Thursday night?
I take it you are the author of the article, and if so a it's big well done from me, you speak common sense all the way through, great read mate!...........
I know some facts, but they will not be stated on here, but digest what Lee Trundle had to say: "Man management, and being able to motivate players, are crucial qualities for a manager — it’s not just about setting up a team — and Garry has been different class in that sense. If you have him there showing that fight, that passion and that drive, as a player you respond to that." - Lee Trundle Now I'm sure you'll appreciate that Lee speaks from knowing the facts, and from speaking to the players and board, interesting that he focuses on the essential skills of a manager, of 'Man Management' and 'Motivating players', I'm sure you get his drift......................
Of course it was the right thing to do, We needed to do something and its a pity it was not done sooner, Even if we never won another game it still needed to be done for the players sake because the atmosphere at the club was at an all time low and that did spread to the terraces as those who attended matches will be able to testify. Its not just on the pitch that was all wrong it was how he was running the club was all wrong also... He was without doubt one of the best players of all time and even i thought it was a good appointment, but it did not work out, His idea of management is way off what the players thought as there was a him and us mentality about the place, He was unapproachable in many ways and there was no bond there at all. He would turn up if he wanted to turn up and there was no togetherness feeling there. That alone would spread on to the pitch because as we all saw he could not be bothered to motivate the players or give instructions during the game, So come on now how would you feel like as a player with very little input from the manager during a game...I bet that with a bit more effort on the sidelines from laudrup we would have won a few more games, So what we fans saw and the atmosphere inside the club and on the terraces and being just 2 points of a relegation place then the chairman had little choice but to step in and do something because if we were going down then lets go down fighting and there was no way that was going to happen under laudrup...
Trunds might well have a point. But don't you think there might just be a teensy weensy element of self interest in that statement? After all, Monk is a mate and the club, his employers, pay his wages. Just a thought.
