Dai.. They have no money. They have control over other peoples' money. They came in hoping for profit to boost their other ventures in the fund which were losing them money. That is why they have put in no more money and are trying to get the club on a level keel.
There are plenty of owners out there who invested for the love of their club. Maybe they hope they will et some back at some stage if they hit the big time....but most don't and one sees that when the key man pops his clogs or has had enough, the club drops like a stone. I am sure there are lots on this forum that can mention a club. I'll give you Newport County and Salford City as a start. Southampton are another one under the Lieb Herr geezer. Even Chelsea and Manchester City are money sinks and no means of big investment returns. Bristol city is another one, I believe.
So, please don't talk crap.....as a businessman you should know better.

There is no defence, the **** around these last years as we all said bar one or two is that it relegation due to piss poor management by the old and current board would eventually lead to redundancies.

And what would you want <laugh> I hope they make a shed full of money. If you buy a club then you run it to make a profit and not at a loss like the two idiots that were running the club.....They are very talented people who can turn a small fry club like ours around in 2 or 3 seasons but it is small change to them and they could have easily cashed in and left us to it.....They chose to stay and that shows commitment...

Remember these words Dai , what changed ?

"Will be relentless in our determination to continually improve the club - and we have the financial resources to do so. We will be competitive and will outwork our opponents on the pitch and in the boardroom"

Someone on here was telling us about all the investment that was going to take place!

Hollow words indeed from the Yanks considering they haven’t managed to put a dime into the Club. In fact, they can’t even be bothered to come here.

So low paid hard working local loyal people supporters of the club are now going to be in financial hardship.

Meanwhile Trevor Birch turns up to get his bank account boosted out of you.

    Something is seriously wrong.

    Disgrace.

    New Chairman Appointment

    Trevor Birch
    Dear ?????
The Swans Trust welcomes the appointment of Trevor Birch as the new Chairman of our football club.
The Trust was informed that Mr Birch was the majority owners’ preferred candidate in advance of his appointment and we were given the opportunity to speak with him at that time, which we did. We have also been able to meet him this week and we are grateful to Trevor for his time and willingness to facilitate a meeting so quickly after his appointment. He brings wide experience and expertise to the role.
However, the Trust does have concerns regarding some aspects of his remuneration package, which we have been informed contains an equity element. The details and conditions of this are unclear but, if true, would potentially dilute the Trust’s shareholding and further prejudice our position as a minority shareholder in the football club. Therefore, the Trust is unable to support this element of the proposal. The Trust raised our objections to the majority owners prior to the appointment but, not for the first time, we have not received a response.
The Trust shares the concerns raised by our members about the remit and targets he has been set by the majority owners. However, we have been told that his focus is on stabilising the club rather than preparing the club for a sale.
The Trust is also aware of the press reports regarding members of staff being notified of a consultation period regarding potential redundancies at our club. The Trust is acutely aware of the financial challenges which life in the Championship brings, but it is disappointing that jobs are at risk primarily due to the poor management of the football club in the past. The Trust, through our supporter director, will be strongly representing the views of our members to the new chairman and the club board that any decisions made are taken with the best long-term interests of the football club at heart.

Well here you have it, The Americans are doing everything possible to stop our club going under and appointing this new Chairman is the right step and someone who has plenty of experience in slashing the running cost of the club......He will start with staff that he will make some redundant that will probably include Curtis and others right through all age groups, and players that could be sold including those on loan and there will be players who will not be required and let go.....We have brought this on ourselves by trying to be bigger than what we are and spending as if we are a big club......We are not the only ones in the Championship and the Premiership there are many clubs trying to buy success and getting into massive debt.......At least we are now doing something about it and we have a few seasons yet of cut backs and all we have that is going well considering is the new kids on the block keeping us in the championship and hoping Potter and his players can continue to do this for the next few seasons which is a tough ask and should we get relegated again and again then so be it.....If i ran my businesses like the club have ran theirs for years i would not be in business today ....Thankfully Mine is solvent and making a reasonable living for me and my Brother and staff and families and giving a valuable service.......The Club however has a long way to go before they can say that...

So you agree that the Club has been badly run by it’s owners.

I have said this many times that the owners made a huge error in letting pearlman and Jenkins full access in running the club.......Now they have to put things right and that is what the owners are now doing...
