So there's a 30 million hole to fill... does that mean for the club to be on a level footing with no profits taken out at all or for the consortium to be happy?

I don't see this as a Jinx replacement, it's too orientated towards the finance side of the club, is Pearlman on the way out? because he should be, the guy is worse than useless, just like our Yankee owners, What a mess this boardroom is...............<ok>

The Americans are doing a great job but it will take a few seasons yet of tightening the clubs belt before we will see the club solvant again. The club has benefited by the americans actions already on the pitch and it is only the first season....We are so lucky to have very successful businessmen that can put the club back on track and make us a great club again in the future.....

He is known to be ruthless and is a no nonsense Chairman that will sell players for the solvent of the club. He only has to answer to the owners and he will make sure every department has to answer to him...Will he be to ruthless ? Only time will tell but i think he will be hated by the fans like he has been at every other club he has been in charge of.....

In 2002, he left Ernst & Young to become Chief Executive of Chelsea, where he led the £180 million sale to Roman Abramovich in 2003.

After the sale, Birch chose not to stay at the club and in October that year was appointed Chief Executive of Leeds United, overseeing the takeover by a local consortium.

He then moved to Everton in June 2004 to become Chief Executive. Birch was given the task of overhauling the Merseyside club's finances, but resigned after a disagreement over strategy with the board and major shareholders.

Since then Birch has been a partner at Deloitte and Chief Operating Officer of Sportfive, the largest football rights agency in Europe, as well as holding other Chief Executive roles at Derby County and Sheffield United.

He returned to the accountancy profession in 2011 and undertook the role of Administrator at financially troubled Portsmouth. Under his stewardship the club was sold to the Pompey Supporters' Trust, with Birch performing a similar feat as Administrator at Heart of Midlothian in 2013.

He subsequently undertook an advisory role to the Board at Bolton Wanderers in late 2015 which finished in March 2016 on the sale of the club.

In March 2017 Portsmouth confirmed that they had retained the services of Mr. Birch during a period of negotiations with Mike Eisner and his investment vehicle Tornante regarding a takeover of the club.

Balancing the books is going to come at some cost , the few options open is the sale of more players

This is going to happen anyway, whether it's balancing the books or making a profit. We all know what's coming in the window. Or do I mean going.

Would be good if they are trying to sell the club wouldn't it !
They've ruined our club so far, so the sooner they are gone the better.

They have not ruined the club at all <laugh> The Morgans, Jenkins and pearlman have decimated the club. The Americans have stepped in to save the club and to do that they have had no choice but to get rid of the high earners and drastically cut down or wage bill......A few more seasons yet before we will see much improvement i'm sorry to say and our new chairman will have his own plans to make the club solvent again.......But on the playing side we are doing far better than first thought on a low budget and that is one of the brighter side of things....Will we do that for the next 2 or 3 more seasons is anybody's guess as we wont see any expensive players coming in as we won't pay them the over the top contracts they will want... It is lucky we have such good experienced wealthy business people at the helm who have seen it, got the T-shirt and done it all before...We couldn't be in better hands.....
