Wind getting stronger as the storm begins to hit the Whole of Miami. The low lands are expecting to be at least 10 feet underwater.

They have decided to stay put as you say Dai, they have a 4 bedroom Villa out there, but I'm recommending they move to a large hotel,. With regard to their flight out, they are getting conflicting reports from Thomas Cook, who's helpline is utter dross. I am just hoping that the catagory 5 will drop to a category 2 or 3 by the time it hits Orlando, I have been in touch with friends I know in Tampa, to see what they are doing, and they are riding out the storm in a large hotel, which makes some sense.
Great news! While Orlando International Airport is closing commercial flights at 5pm Saturday, their flight with Thomas Cook at 6:50 is still good to go at the minute, also latest data has the Hurricane hitting Orlando as Cat 2, so not so bad should their flight get cancelled............. Feeling a lot better at the minute!!..............
Thanks Tobes, My oldest who is 25, is really switched on, while his younger brother who has just turned 18, is not in the slightest worried, but it is a relief that the storm will be a Cat 2 when it reaches Orlando, that is a huge relief............
It was announced on the news this morning Dragon, There are a couple of RN ships already in the vicinity with another on it's way.
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/09/08/us/hurricane-jose/index.html Jose now a category 4 hurricane. Expected to follow the same trajectory as Irma's path.
Just been told that the plane their flying on is a relief plane that came in empty, as it's the last one out of Florida! Most have left earlier on in the week, Flying out 4 pm, 9 pm BST.......... Plane is full, well done Thomas Cook, nice one. Unfortunately a Belgian couple next door to their Villa could not get a flight out, as they were far too expensive for them.
Just talked to my sister and she says they are dodging the bullet on both storms and live just outside Orlando . The Carribean Islands are an absolute mess though .
They have just boarded the plane and are due to take of any minute, so relieved they are getting out in the nick of time!!.................
