Well, as usual from our amazing free press in the UK there's no quotes and nothing to substantiate it. I'll wait and see on that one.

With 23 players confirmed, that leaves two spaces free, and with deadline day signing of Fede Bessone leaves us 1 space. So i am guessing it very much depends on this lad from Hungary impressing in the short time he has... Either one or other...

That leaves the question, does Brendan want Prem experience (all be it over the hill) defender or gamble with Zoltan (The destroyer) Liptak..

I like this guy!! I appreciate that the video will highlight the good bits and omit the bloopers but this guy can play. He's strong on the ball, commanding in the air, quick, a powerful tackler and he can pass the ball long or short. He looked very comfortable, even accomplished, on the ball for a big man and I liked the step-over when he joined in the attack. Got some decent goals as well.

If his wage demands are reasonable it's a no-brainer to sign him ahead of Cambell and I venture to suggest that from the little I saw, he looked every bit as good as Caulker. Sign him, Buck.

Ditto Ivor. How is he not better than what we already have.

The video looks tremendous - it's been mentioned that the bad parts have been brushed under the carpet though! But even so, if he has a decent trial and can show any of the attributes from this video, he's first team material! Very accomplished - his positional sense, sense for danger, and helping out team mates looks amazing. His long balls look as good as Ash's, his low driven passing technique looks impressive, and he's got pace to go round players and join in the attack when needed (comparisons to Phil Jones, David Luiz - only on that attribute though). He looks to be strong in the air (defensively and offensively) and seems aware of his surroundings. Seeing a guy on the field for 90 minutes can change a man's opinion though...

He played against England in last years international. England won 2-1 after being 0-1 down. Liptak was subbed after 55 minutes; all the goals were scored after that point. Gerrard scored 2. He kept Rooney quiet in a pretty decent England team. So he was good enough to be out there and accomplish that.

    The England team was:

England: Hart, Glen Johnson, Jagielka, Terry, Ashley Cole,
Barry, Lampard, Walcott, Gerrard, Adam Johnson, Rooney.
Subs: Loach, Dawson, Cahill, Gibbs, Milner, Young, Wilshere,
    Carlton Cole, Zamora, Fielding.

Musty - don't think you should be so sensitive, mate. Most of us agree that Campbell is not the answer by the looks of things.

However, saying things like you hope Anelka will play on Saturday as he's only half a player doesn't cover you in glory! <laugh>

Couldnt agree more a good player in his time but was past his best at least 3 clubs ago, plus doubts over his desire to stay and fight for a place and his general state of mind, a non starter in my opinion

Apparently this guy is a cracking player, but has a bit of a problem with his attitude. I am sure brendan will be able to sort that out. then maybe guys we will have a little diamond here. Remeber no one had heard of Mr Vorm. get him signed.

never say never i don't mind who we get as i don't want to lose 8-0 by anyone, to say you would rather lose 8-0 than sign him is rather a stupid comment..

Not really what musty said is it? I know he's prone to some stange views, but he said that IF we are going to lose 8-0 he'd rather do it with a youngster getting experience rather than signing an 'overpaid has-been', not that he'd rather get beaten 8-0 than sign him, Isn't English a wonderful language?

Please read and understand before posting Dai.

sol campbell is still a good player with loads of experience in premiership football, it is his fitness that has been his problem and if Brendan decides to bring him on board for a short while then that will do for me.....

pls no, would rather get beat 8-0 with a youngster getting experience than 8-0 with an overpaid has been
that is what musty said and that's a stupid comment....who would rather want to get beat 8-0 whoever we get to play..<doh>

ok i will try and say this again so Dai can understand, HTR grasped it. Swansea plays team X and loses 8-0, would you, as a Swans fan, rather pay Sol Campbell megabucks for the priviledge who is a has been or a youngster who would gain vast experience from playing said club and after the fact hopefully become a better player for it after analysing his perfomance. i never said i wanted to lose 8-0 by anyone - it was hypothetical situation
