I remember a great recording by Dudley Moore that was given away by Private Eye Magazine in the 70s. It was in the style of a French singer and concerned a "leetle phrase (pronounce fraazah)" that he'd heard in London. Went something like "All along les avenues, j'ai entendu pizz oof. Dans les rues et les par venues, j'ai entendu pizz oof." There's a clue in there somewhere!
Does anyone know if Curtis Davies was on that train? I swear we saw him in a shop in kings cross at around 4 but didn't have the bottle to go up to him in case it wasn't him as id read they were all getting into Hull for 3!
