"It means nothing of the sort plus, the Humber's not a River, it's an Estuary." You didn't answer the point. People reading this (if still awake) will conclude you don't really have an fact-based argument here, just a dislike of the word Humberside.
They may well do but it won't stop the word being used in common parlance in articles such as this. It will continue to be used widely for convenience purposes by the rest of the UK. My advice would be " Just accept it and move on."
To be honest, I think most people stopped reading quite a bit back. Even you seem to have skipped the bit where I addressed your question.
Wow great advice from the police, lock your car if you are leaving it, don't leave anything in view. What next, don't leave your keys in the ignition.
That wasn't an 'answer' just a flat denial 'it means nothing of the sort' type rebuttal. This is getting really tedious now. You don't like the term. You resent the fact that 'people in London' for admin reasons refer to our area as 'Humberside'. Fair enough. Then you spoil it all by stamping your feet and holding your hands over your ears yelling "It doesn't exist! It doesn't exist!" Good luck with that.
I agree and I do - as long as it is used in this sort of context and not part of my postal address I can just about live with it...
Your question was unclear so I asked you to clarify, instead you rambled on like an idiot about the names of some organisations. As i put quite early before it got really, really dull, if you're so sure it exists, keep walking until you reach the sign. It'll be far more productive than rattling away to yourself on here to people that really don't give a **** no matter how much you try and ramp it up. .
Is he? I rather thought he was just amusing himself pointing at the gaping great holes in your feeble wind up.
yawn, hey nick you'll soon be able to do one of your famous egd 'raises bat to pavilion, to acknowledge century' posts. How are the books sales going?
Good lad. Listen carefully and they tell you which geographic region they cover. This is too easy, you keep hitting own goals.
Take extra care ? Is Hull more dangerous than other places in the championship ? Or just we have more incompetent police here ?
"Police are advising fans to park in a well-lit area"1 And where exactly will be so dark it needs to be well-lit between 12.30 and 14.15? Where would we be without Humberside Police and their Intelligence ( LOL) units?
As an aside to all this argument, you may, or may not, be interested that many years ago, and I remember, there use to be an article written in the HDM entitled Humberside Echoes, and was a popular feature long before many of you were born. I have a link but you need a subscription, or join up for credits, to read the actual archive so I've just posted the link for reference.
