People are morbid, especially people who have had no contact with death. They think it's exciting or like films, when in real life it's just sad, very very sad.

I do a fair bit of work in morgues, I've watched them haul the bodies about and I've seen some people who have been totally ****ed up, it's not good, it's not fascinating it's ****ing horrible, especially when you walk past the relatives next door sobbing their bastard eyes out.

I'll be honest I don't rubber neck, I know what it looks like and God forbid I don't want to see it again.

Same here unfortunately. As a foreigner whether you were involved or not it will always be your fault.
Did stop once to help a motor cyclist who had come off and broken his leg. Managed to get him into the back of the SUV we had flat out and took him to hospital. Ended up having to pay for his stay as he coudnt afford it. Fortunately they now have a National Health Service.
Saw a crash yesterday where a lorry had gone into a tree hard and the whole front was caved in. Driver was trapped but obviously still alive judging by the number of people who had stopped and were filming them trying to get him out.

That’s why we’re fascinated. Our culture hides death away, our obsession with youth attempts to deny it; but deep down inside is the awareness that we have to come to terms with it at some point.

It’s my opinion that when you accept that you are going to die one day (and it could be today, though hopefully not), then you can really start to live.

Really? never go help? Nothing has disgusted me more in my fellow man than when I had someone hit by a coach right in front of me, I'll never forget either the sound of it hitting him, but the part that has stayed with me more is the memory of the crowd gathered around me to watch, but whenever I asked someone to help they turned their heads away. ****s weren't interested in helping, just in watching 'the show'.

The official instructions of the company I worked for in Saudi when witnessing an accident or being close in any way to one was to get the hell away from the area as quickly as possible. I worked for a hospital management company!

Reason? Saudi's will blame westerners for the accident and demand blood money.

That was pretty hard for clinical staff to take.
