Fair enough about the first two paragraphs, pretty much agree with you there. Well I'm not sure who would come to us, that would be just as good right now. Any ideas Tommy!?
Rob Tanner ‏@RobTannerMerc 42m Good news for LCFC. Sources say Kasper is going nowhere. Would take a ridiculous bid to change City's minds. More in tomorrow's Merc #LCFC
It always potentially looks tougher every season but usually one or two of the teams that you expect to do well under-perform - Blackburn and Bolton were much fancied last season after many years in the top flight, nor could you rule out Wolves. We were fancied too because of the money we'd spent the season before as were Birmingham after a disappointing first season. Everyone was looking at Forest after their take-over. Boro, who finished strongly the season before, were also backed. No-one talked about Hull and Palace. With this league you just never know, but it's not often the teams you expect. Even West Ham had to rely on the play-offs a couple of years ago. Wolves and perennial top-six finishers Cardiff out of the way will help us, as will Sheff Utd failing to get promotion (I don't fancy any of the promoted sides to do anything), but the two teams that got promotion to the Prem that likely as not wouldn't have been a threat next season doesn't help us. Would have been better if Watford and Bolton had gone up in that regard.
That just means its all down to whether Kasper hands in a transfer request or not. My guess would be Tanner means the club aren't prepared to sell him.
Can't see him doing that. He knows his time will come. Why leave our club now under a cloud after establishing himself as a favourite? He's already on good money and if he goes to the wrong type of current Prem club (ie one that will lose 70-80% of their games) it could actually damage his career rather than help it. Besides even if he did ask to be transfer-listed and we refuse, Kasper is too professional not to give his all, so even that may not see him leave.
Sinan Bolat it is then! I just hope you tie him down to a contract, otherwise he can sign a pre contract in January and leave for nothing the following Summer.
Can't get on with FM, too much to do, even in the "classic" mode. Just like to buy players, sort the formation out and press play. I liked the simple times of Championship Manager 00/01
Sign Chris Wood on Football Manager 13. He scores 40 odd a Season (and he's in his late 30's on mine!)
I like my Football Manager! I'm on the 13th December 2025. Took Barnet to multiple Premier League titles, Champions League success's and an 80,000 seater Stadium I do have a life. I promise.
Fair play, I tried that with Boston on the old one but got very bored very quickly! I had a network game with housemates that went on til the 2020's. Network games change everything, I can't do single player anymore haha I didn't even buy last seasons one! Probably a good thing as it can take up so much of your time.
Football Manager and Not606 take up most of my time since as in the missus has taken over the TV. I just cower away in the corner on my PC with my iPhone and Football Manager, discussing football matters, the occasional banter and often argument with the deluded Celtic fan. EXCLUSIVE: Candy Man's life revealed.
According to the mercury the player Hull offered us was Jack Hobbs Hull have now given up on Kasper and are set to sign Allan McGregor What did i tell you. Kasper wouldnt join Hull
Kasper will always use football clubs as stepping stones until he gets to his beloved Man United. First Class ****
He hasn't rejected us though, you've refused to sell him. Still, if he isn't coming, then that's that. Whether or not that's on the grounds that it's us bidding for him is up for debate I guess. I'd still like to hear his reaction to not being allowed to move, just to see if it was a mutual decision or if it's pissed him off. We'll probably go in for McGregor now, with Bolat coming in on a free. So it's not all bad
I think we need to view this dispassionately and on the basis of the information that is actually out there publicly for all to see... both the respective clubs and indeed, Kasper himself, have been tight-lipped about the siuation / discussions etc - so the only real insight comes from Peter Schmeichel's comments - If you read those (dispassionately), it appears to me that Kasper would have readily joined Hull City (lure of Prem football and linking up with his childhood mate his dad's best friend etc) if Leicester City had been willing to sell ... we weren't (at least not on the terms being offered) and that is summed up in Peter Schmeichel's comment that, to paraphrase, 'Kasper is at a club who won't want to let him go'... and that's it really. Footballers these days have scant loyalty to clubs although, admittedly, our friend from Leeds may have a point in that, if Kasper was to have loyalty to a club it would be to Man United, and that other clubs are mere stepping stones if that possibility is ever realistic for him.
Aaaaand what are you basing this on? Oh actually, I get it. Every club he joins is bigger and better than the last, which is why it's a stepping stone. I see
