after i graduated from uni about 150 years ago, a fellow ex-student was working with michael page in leeds. he rang me about a job in leeds/manchester sometime afterwards and i told him i had been commuting to grimsby to work for a professional firm of accountants for a few years. he was desperately trying to get me to think about commuting or relocating the other way. he described the situation quite simplistically: "imagine england is a body. the vital organs are in leeds and manchester around the spine of the country - the pennines. hull is at the end of an arm and grimsby is a finger at the end of that arm. inded grimsby is the finger that just wiped your a r s e!!!
