Olly says that Scowen should have been sent off which is interesting and should be applauded.

"Scowen should have been sent off. It's an absolutely scandalous tackle, in my opinion. I'm going to hammer him.

"He got angry because they were playing around us. That's why you have to take your medicine son. Don't kick out at someone like that.

"Nedum came across to protect him from number 22, who looked as aggressive, but my man should have got sent off then that would have taught him the right lesson."

That about sums it up. Eze may have been played as a striker at Wycombe but he is not a giant lump and therefore was ineffective when the cross is usually in the air to head and not on the deck to feet against central defenders who are a good 9 inches taller and probably weigh twice a much The only observations I would add is that a lot of players looked well below par and that Silla also is no lone striker. We were unlucky to go in two down because the first came out of the blue in a dull game which looked like it had 0-0 written all over it and the second was one of those unlucky rebounds of the goalie. Second half, Eze reverted to the position he should have started in and we went all out for a goal and paid the penalty as both full backs seemed to spend more time in their half of the pitch therefore meaning that when Hull broke away and swarmed forward they were inevitably going to score.

The experiment of playing Eze as a lone striker has been tried now and been seen not to work. One thing which nobody has commented on to date is the fact that Atkinson had clearty done his homework. Our playmakers often had two men on them.

Remind us of that next season. The home form while better would not get us into the play zone. As long as we continue to improve we will make a good team eventually

You should have added that as long as they have billions or spied for the UK we roll out the red carpet for them. We would for you too! Everyone welcome provided we can sell you things and you can afford the rip off prices. No questions asked.

I don't particularly rate Sylla, but the point is, if he had started as the forward we may well have got more out of Eze, Freeman etc.
We have a talented, promising squad, but imo they will never become a consistently good, winning side whilst Ollie is in charge with all his tinkering of personnel and shape. He just can't help himself.

I agree with that - the tinkering may be excessive at times but it is also obvious that there are other things which play a part in those decisions. Such as injuries, illnesses, the desire to try new things out and players knocking on the door demanding to know why they are not being played or begging the boss to give them a chance to fulfill a new role. The talented promising squad was all playing at Hull and didn't play that well. The team chosen was pretty much the one we would have all wanted except for the strange decision to play Eze as a lone striker. With Smith ill, Washington tied and found wanting therefore even more useless as a lone striker, Silla barely match fit and little Smyth even smaller the options weren't great. Perhaps the best option might have been to put Lynch up there to mix it up with their lumbering Neanderthal giants and start with Robinson. He could then have brought Silla on in the second half but I'm sure he would have been criticised for that decision as well.
 
Seemed quite obvious that Eze up front alone would not work. We don't have the style of play or ball retention or infact the calibre of players to utilise a small front man. We have been used to long high balls to Smith which granted have suited our style at times.

Sorry been away for weekend to Uxbridge, where nearly every pub is a QPR pub, well 3 of them were!

So what is going to happen on Tuesday...No Ned (suspended), No Lynch (injured), Eze (scarred, by Saturday), Scowen (scarred by Ollie)
Are we about to go into freefall again..

Well Holloway has said it was his mistake, he should have started with Sylla. I thought he should have started Sylla and had Oteh on the Bench (not sure he''s fit though) but seeing the game and how Hull were I thought Holloway should have gone 2 up front with Sylla and little Smyth playing off him, and hopefully playing through Dawson and company''s legs. That way we just may have worked their Keeper a bit.

Baptiste and Robinson have done well at CB before though usually with a 3rd CB. I'm sure Scowen and Eze survived Ollie. Bigger problem will be if Smith is still sick. If he is I hope Holloway plays Sylla and Smyth up front, with Oteh on the Bench.

The full 90 minutes live was more than enough for me. I like going to Hull once a year but every time I do I find that they are a lying cheating side and their fans are clearly quite used to their team trying to wind up the opposition so that the opponents can be reduced in numbers through red cards. Memories of Joey Barton three years ago. Bidwell should not have got a yellow from where I was sitting but I will bow to the collective view of those who may have seen it close up on tv from 57 angles. Their goalie tried to feign an injury when Silla went for a 50/50 challenge. The home fans bayed for Onuoha to be sent off for what was a clear 50 50 challenge and a completely accidental clash of heads. When players spend 20 minutes out of 90 trying to get their opponents sent off but feel free to be physical and lash out when they feel like it knowing that they can then do their dying swan act and mass picket of the referee to tell him what to do it would take the patience of a saint not to react as Onouha did when he lost the plot spectacularly at the end.

I await the sense of moral outrage when one of them is seriously injured by a genuine foul and the ref books the Hull players who come squealing to try to persuade him to brandish a red card.
