Although Captain, Barton didn't need to get so involved - appeared he was initially trying to get the youngster, Furlong, off the hook for a potential yellow card, but the red mist came down and he was lashing out at everyone (just like in that Man City finale). Yes, the ref was extremely biased today, especially with Zarate's yellow after he just came on, when only a warning should have been required. I'm sure he would have liked to have given Zamora another yellow too for all the physical stuff with Meyler, which in reality (using one of those annoying cliches) was six of one, half a dozen of the other. Not one yellow card for Hull today says it all.
Sorry Mr 9's, I was not lumping you into being a Barton hater as a response to your what a cock post, I have read a few posts slating Mr Barton today, I'm worried he will be getting booed etc at matches from now on. I know this season has been **** but we need to come together now and support all of our team whichever 11 is on the park. Call me deluded but I still believe we can stay up and we need to all get behind the team no matter what now. We will beat Chelsea at home' I will be there losing my voice. I now have my tin hat on so you can all throw stones at me for trying to still be upbeat....
He would have offered more protection to Furlong if he had stayed on the pitch. A poor example for a captain to set.
Probably cost us the match...but he has been better this season.... And his reputation goes before him.. Having seen how the team has played and reacted under CR I am going to adopt the same attitude. I am not going to slag him off... We need full team spirit for the next two matches... Both winnable in my opinion. come on u R s
Can we stay up? What a stupid question, of course we can. We are not even in the relegation zone ffs. Arsenal and Spurs are not going to be looking forward to their trip south-west. Sandro will step into Barton's position while he is suspended and make us even more solid. Charlie is going to go on another run of goalscoring. Doughty and Furlong, enough said. We have a manager who knows what he is doing. Cheers!
Barton was true to form in that he reacted to a perceived injustice. No excuse for the laying on of hands with Huddlestone. Just plain stupid.
Furlong looked good mate, both defensively and going forward. Bit naive, understandably, but full of confidence.
Judging by what I saw on an ok stream we are a totally different proposition to a few weeks ago. I was very impressed with the team today, with the obvious exception. There was a plan, no panic and for most of the game we tried to play football. The next two games are really tough - Arsenal are quality and Spurs getting there and in form. I hope we have the patience not to panic in the boardroom and in the stands. Stick with this bloke, whatever happens this season, we might build something.
You get the feeling if the players were reversed, what myler (their no 7) did putting a hand to Barton's throat would have been a red for a QPR player.
Whats wrong with Suk Yung's right foot? Didn't use it all afternoon and seemed to have difficulty standing up. #kininguseless.
