Thank's champ. Let me know when we don't have a club. You know like we almost didn't. Before the gift. Of the club. From Assem and his family. Doesn't that suit you're agendas?
Your right. There is no need to thank you. You think we should be grateful of course, all lesser fans should worship the superfans, fighting the man on our behalves. I suspect you still don't get why the majority never flocked to your banner and just cause. He might have not succeeded in changing the name of the club, but he did at least rid us of a few hangers on, long may THAT continue. He also managed to give the various protest groups that give your life meaning a reason to exist. Which is funny when you think about it, without him, we'd have no club, and you'd just be angry at someone else over it. Online of course. There is no need to thank him. Actually there isn't, he didn't do it for your thanks.
Without wishing to restart an argument that's already over he did not try to get rid of the club named Hull City - he just wanted to make a minor change to the name of the club from Hull City to Hull Tigers. Whilst unwelcome, this change would in no way have changed the nature of the club that we (nearly) all support.
I mentioned in a earlier thread I was fortunate, no honoured on leaving school to sign for my local club Hull City AFC. You say he wanted to make a minor change to the name of the club from Hull City AFC to Hull Tigers this was a major change to the history our club. If you don't feel immense pride at the mention of this great club called Hull City AFC, in my opinion you can't be a true fan.
Getting promoted to the top tier of English football was a huge change to our history too. I presume that didn't bother you? Things change.
Its a good job you didn't sign for St Andrews then. What's your take on a club that changes its name for commercial benefit, ie Hull United the subject of this thread. I'm interested that's all. So please don't question my loyalty to Hull City.
Hull City reaching the top tier was a great achievement for the club and will always be mentioned in the history of the club
