Sounds like a case of 'Fake it until you Make it'. Apparently this Waltham fella had a one year lease. No doubt he was going to try and buy the freehold in this period. The Hull United football model is flawed. Free football just isn't possible. Somebody has to pick up the tab.
I don't think he was saying that Hull is a rugby city. He was saying that Sheffield is a bigger football city than Hull. I've been to a Sheffield derby and the atmosphere is incredible. There's loud noise on all four sides.
There is a difference between watching & supporting....I will not step inside the KC again as long as the Allams own the club but I continue to go to away games ......not been to watch any other teams this season
I'm boycotting home games & had been a passholder for around 40 years (this is my first without a pass for as long as I can remember)
I always ventured in to watch City.........true I didn't come in for any other reasons & only occasionally pass through en route to the East these days
I know everyone is entitled to their own views & actions etc. - I fully accept that - but anyone who has been a Passholder for 40 years has lived through far far worse owners and times than the current ones, so to my mind there is absolutely no justification to claim to be boycotting home games now. Even if anyone is, then to make a song and dance about it on this Forum is symptomatic of a sad attempt to justify the unjustifiable. Support your team through thick and thin.
My team no longer exists in the eyes of the owners.....I support Hull City AFC......according to the current owners that team no longer exists....it has been expunged & replaced by Hull Tigers (or more frequently these days simply The Tigers) I continue to support the club away from home where I'm not giving that family a penny.....I didn't make a song & dance...I replied to a comment that most boycotting were not long term fans....not true....my wife had a pass for 25 years, I had one for over 40 & my lads have both had them since being old enough to go....so probably 16-17 years..........none of us now have passes We were told last season that the only way to show disapproval was not to buy passes......it was even the Allams chosen way for us to protest
You either boycott watching City or you don't. No middle ground. All this 'going to some away games' is a half-arsed cop out.
Couldn't agree more. I know that many on here have their issues with the owners, myself included, although equally I'm not blind to the fact that they have also done many good things too, but it would never stop me supporting City. The only time that will happen is when they bang that final nail into my coffin, then I'll be watching from above with free entry.
you're a bit ******ed, aren't you? some people have principles. some people can only be pushed so far. some people can be walked all over and beg for more. some people don't care about what other people care for. you, you're thick.
That really makes absolutely **** all sense though doesn't it? It's pretty obvious why NFT, same as me, is boycotting. It's about the Allams and money, not some kind of self-punishment exercise. As he's explained; he's not paying the Allam regime any more money. Why should he also punish himself by not going to away games? As he's also stated we were constantly told by people like Irememberwaggy, "if you don't like it don't go". Now we don't go that's wrong as well. You really can't win with these types. Desperate to have these petty arguments over silly minutia while the real enemy and sole cause of the whole issue is ignored. But ah yes, we're winning again aren't we?
