I think the argument is moving away from the extenuating circumstances the judgment panel considered; I didn't believe we were discussing the morality and acceptance of social, gratuitous use.

I think you're right. I googled it but couldn't find a great deal. My memory of it was £500k with £500k in add-ons, given that he played 100+ games for us and we got promoted I suspect they were triggered.

You could almost say something enhanced his performance.

I came THIS close to making that point myself, but opted not to for obvious reasons.

Can't be arsed to read this thread, what's the genuine, reliable story?

That means, no bollocks that cheap ****e rags such as the sun, daily star, guardian etc have claimed.

He could be such a good player in this league if he is focused. Lets all get behind him and take it from there, worst case scenario?? He plays as bad as last year, so will still more than compete in the Championship.............. I'm looking forward to him smashing some cameras in this league. Nobodies perfect.... i am far from it my wife will back it up............

Great news. Jake and Meyler can provide much needed energy in our CMF. Just hope Bruce doesnt stick Huddlestone back in there to slow things down.

They'll want to be seen to maintain integrity, and regardless of the circumstances, he's breached the code, and deserves to be punished. What's to stop the next bloke who has personal issues using it as a crutch for getting on the gear? Either they'll appeal this, or they'll tighten the guidelines further.

Would imagine that Jakey boy will be subjected to regular dope testing in the future, certainly for this season. So he would be a silly boy indeed if he carrys on taking coke or any other substance
