I assume we'll have continued to pay his wages, he was suspended not sacked and hadn't actually been found guilty of anything.
I think the best outcome for Jake, the club and us fans, is to give him support and a chance to reclaim his career. Obviously not everyone will agree with that, but we could do with his quality in this championship season.
Glad to see at least one other person remembered how crap he was playing before. Bruce should have recognised the value of Quinn much sooner than he did.
He was terrible but I think he would suit the Championship better than Hudds, god forbid we see these two together again anyway in the centre of the park
And that's important to you, isn't it? Did you not believe there was something cynical in Rio's behaviour? Is it beyond your ken to include an essence of humanity into your sense of justice and tit-for-tat reckoning? I care not that he is signed to us, or if he plays for us again, but I do care that the FA has the moral compass to do what you are incapable of.
There must be another twist to this. The BBC article says his child died last year shortly after the cup final. The drugs test was this year in April nearly a year after the loss which is subject to legal matters. What went on in that year and how come it wasn't noticed by manager and team mates. We all saw a remarkable drop in form which is now understandable.
I believe the incident with cocaine occurred when the tragedy was re-lived during or just after the inquest into his child's death.
I think circumstances and events play a role in tragic circumstances, I think escape, no matter how short-lived, could be seen to be something that is desirable. I trust those that listened to the story, gathered the facts, took their time and only then made a considered compassionate judgment.
Does anybody believe that Livermore is the only City player that has snorted coke in the last two years? The FA's given him a second chance, we should as well.
I like to think so. If not hair test the lot of em and ban the ****ers for life if found to have used it. In fact forget urine tests. Hair tests should be implemented across the board by the FA.
