Club Statement We entered a partnership with P&O Ferries in good faith, aware of their desire to contribute to the city of Hull. The partnership was designed to support many local grass roots activities, as part of extensive community programmes, and complementary to a much bigger and exciting project the club is working on ahead of 2025. Two years after the P&O Ferries business restructure, we had underestimated the continuing depth of feeling that remains in some parts of our community. Since the announcement, we have engaged with supporters, stakeholders and East Hull MP Karl Turner. As an East Hull institution looking to stay true to its Values, it’s important to us that our community know we will always try to do the right thing, and to represent them in the best way possible. Therefore, Hull KR having decided at this time it is inappropriate to continue with this partnership
Rovers 40 - 20 St Helens ... They're not messing about in deepest darkest East Hull... That's Wigan and Saints battered in consecutive weeks.
Roughly translated: “We knew it was a ****ty thing to do but the cash was too good to turn down and we thought we’d get away with it.” Fair play for pulling out though and for the fans for putting on the pressure.
It’s great to see you guys do well and mix it with the big boys. Unfortunately, Wigan and Saints seem to be able to find another gear in Sep / Oct when it really counts, I hope I’m wrong but I just can’t see past one of those two winning it again.
Wonder if Hull Live would have had mentioned it if it hadn’t be all over social media? Maybe they could contact the police to ask how many of the bottle throwers at the derby last year have been arrested. Plenty of cameras in the MKM they use to track down football fans.
