    1. No I don't. At face value it does seem a ridiculous proposal, but for now all we can do is take it at face value and speculate, I've a feeling there will be a lot more to this behind the scenes that we may never find out about.

    2. Most certainly not, or logical either, why would they drive them out without reason? If it was costing the SMC money to have the hockey and netball teams in there then I think it's entirely justified to increase rent so as not to cause a loss. If not I find it a bewildering thing to do.

    3. Yes I do think it is and this is one of the very best things he could have done for the city. What's more important, a very large and well placed chunk of land going unused for 51 weeks in a year in order to allow a troop of travellers to come into the city and TAKE money put of it? Or a big sporting complex that would be one of, if not THE best in the whole country, bringing with it external investment, lots of jobs for local building contractors and the ever rising number of unemployed once the place opens, and facilities and ultimately events for the cities youth to not only exercise and keep them off the streets, but give them the best possible opportunity at a career in sport aswell.

    4. I think he admitted as such when he arrived at Hull City, that he had not much interest in the world of sport in the past. Maybe his company wasn't secure enough for such a big risk investment at that time, maybe he just didn't care at all. Totally irrelevant as he is here now, saved the club from liquidation and pumped his own money into the playing staff to have us challenging for the top 2 spots in the league (and promotion).

I'd just like to add that I'm not from and never have lived in hull or Yorkshire so other than them being the owners of my football club, what goes on in the city is from a neutral and 'outsider' viewpoint.

And with that I think the sports village is a no brainier and absolutely fantastic proposal, and when it looked as though it would happen I was VERY jealous, wishing we had a tycoon willing to invest in something like that here in Leicester.
