Play them at their own game. Write letters of support for AA into the Hull Daily Mail Contact all media outlets to put forward the valid arguments why Pinocio Pearson must pay ( or miss out). Counteract the idiots arguments by ringing up Radio Humberside Sportstalk. Show the numpties up for what they are.
What a crock of ****. If the odd administration means you're not a good businessman, then there's a lot of very wealthy crap businessmen out there, Richard Branson has over a dozen major administrations to his name, yet he was worth several billion last time I looked. You don't make big money, without taking big risks and not all of them are going to come off. The debt figures you've mentioned either show you don't know what you're talking about, or you're being deliberately disingenuous. Personally, I think the whole thing is rather unnecessary and involves some daft point scoring, but the comments of some/most of the FC fans show them in a far poorer light.
Who cares what the FC egg chasers are tweeting. They should be demanding that Adam Pearson speaks about this issue and not slag off the Allams.
Adam Pearson? Talk? The man with the absolute skill to say nothing and walk away blameless? There's more chance of the "Nicks' Side of The Story" coming out before you see AP do that. NB: In case it's not obvious, I'm suggesting neither of the above will ever happen. Ever. Amazes me that people talk in hushed, reverential tones about someone who only looks after themselves (yes hes a businessman, it's what he does, he's good at it, he's not our messiah is all), yet other businessmen like the Allams DO look after others, and help our City out, and attract this sort of ****e. Even doing charity stuff or giving stuff away for free to benefit those less able to manage themselves is looked down upon in our fair City. Next time someone is bleating about how our City is perceived or portrayed should be directed to this thread.
Almost a year ago, Adam Pearson and Hull FC were awre of this whole pictures situation, why has he gone so long and not mentioned it, and since all this aggro stayed suspiciously silent? Fact When the SMC was initiated, both clubs were demanded to pay a bond to have a board member, FC refused and now it's all of a sudden 'unfair'. Would you like a board seat for free or are you willing to pay for it? Fact Your bunch (fc fans) and you included, make out Dr Allam is a vulture and in everything for himself. He just so happened to have done something far bigger than anything he could do for any sports team, whether good or bad, and that is pumping money into Castle Hill hospital, which is a highly commendable act which benefits everyone in the city and surrounding area regardless of their sporting interests. What is your stance on that? Fact Seeing how FC fans are talking about boycotting anything which could give money to the Allams, I also assume if you were to fall ill and require treatment at castle hill, you would refuse that treatment knowing that Dr. Allam has part funded for your health care there? Thought not. You say he took a local company and moved it away, I believe Allam marine is based in Melton which is close proximity to hull and still in the east riding, therefore benefitting people from hull and the east riding offering job oppurtunities. In this difficult economic climate, specifically where engineering firms are cutting costs by moving abroad, he still stays here. Is that not good enough? He took over £50,000,000 of debt when he bought Hull City football club, which he wrote off with his own personal wealth. A commendable act for the community and area, no? The 19 million debt you talk of is in no small part due to the fallout of the failures of the incompetent previous regime. That is not the Allams doing. Final question, what would it take for the Allams to win your belief that they are good genuine people and are being honest in their claims of 'giving back to their home area'? Or is it impossible solely due to his interests in the city's football club which may or may not conflict with yours? Serious question. I look forward to your reply.
Answers all my questions thanks guys. I've completely misjudged Dr Allam he is a great guy who wants to give the City of Hull a great gift... On the grounds of being a good business man, as the Bon Jovi and Sir Elton John pictures are still displayed at the KC I applaud the allams at getting them to pay their invoices. And by removing the Hockey and Basketball teams from the (No sponsorship) Arena I guess he has saved cash on maintenance and signage.
On current evidence I believe it's clear he does want to give the city of hull a great gift. The only evidence I can find to counter is he has removed some Hull FC related pictures from the KC stadium. Which stands out more, pumping millions into a hospital to benefit the whole area, or take down some photos of a certain club, which has angered just a percentage of the cities residents who lay allegiance to said club. I see you avoided answering any of my questions, for your credibility in the name of good debate, I would like you to answer them all directly without going off on a tangent about any related/unrelated topics. We have answered your questions, it's your turn to return the honour.
i just thought the Anti-Allam brigade from HullFC is down to the fact that Mr Allam is in their favorite soap Emmerdale Farm , i just walked passed the tv and did a double take
All this aside a couple of quick questions 1. Do you think paying for pictures of our Cities sporting greats in a suite named after them in a community stadium is right? 2. Do you think removing Basketball teams and Hockey Teams by increasing rent from a stadium is right? 3. Do you not think that the development of the Walton Street carpark is a major objective? 4. Do you think this guy is a Football fan who sat throughout the Needler, Fish and Lloyd problems without getting involved?
I want to know who they think included the value of Boothferry Park in the whole process of dealing with the KC. We hadn't owned it since Lloyd sold us to the Hinchcliffe and Buchanan consortium so why would anybody be doing the comparison? Except you can still go into the offices and look at the unedited register to find someone if you want to. Not really. Our book value has gone down because of the contracts the players still had in place meaning we've been running at a loss. It was expected, it was even announced at the time of the takeover that it would need £50M+ to cover existing debts and future liabilities. The SMC will have been running at a loss because we needed a new pitch laying (maintenance expense rather than an improvement which could go as a capital expense) and I'm sure there were complaints not long after the takeover about how the general maintenance of the complex had been the bare minimum and needed stepping up, and the Council has taken away their offices so income has dropped. The FFP limits spending on footballing costs (ie wages and transfer fees). I'm pretty sure there's a way for this to not be considered in the calculation. We'll see how long this takes to get round the FC conspiracy mongers. Someone earlier said City paid for the repairing of the roof last week even though typically that would be the SMC's responsibility as landlord. Maybe City are loaning the SMC money and charging them interest. That interest would count towards our income for the purposes of FFP, and it would reduce the SMC profit, of which a % has to be paid to the Council. Charging for anything and everything, combined with that interest charge payable to City could just be a way of extracting as much money from FC as possible and transferring it into an Allamhouse company without any tax being paid on it, and without the Council managing to get their hands on any of it.
1st two are irrelevant so I'm skipping to 3. Yes of course it's an objective. Only your standard numpty would think that's a bad thing. The place is a total waste of space and he wants to turn it into a proper sports village to regenerate the area, create jobs etc and you're against that for some reason People with your attitude are what holds the City back.
Most people I have asked have never ****ing heard of Johnny whiteley He may be famous in the little world of rugby league but he is unknown in the big world . I swear to god I had never heard of him. You FC fans need to direct your questions at Adam Pearson.. Simple as that.. Long Live the Allams Heroes of Hull and NOT just for sporting efforts Twat won't answer the Castle Hill Question will he ? I am thankful for what the Allams have done for that hospital and continue to do for so many people .. They have done MORE THEN ANY Football or Rugby player has ever done FACT... Now run along and tell Pearson to pay his Bills or the next step is you will be banned off the pitch that the Smc paid to have put down
1. I am personally not very materialistic, the company itself (The SMC), made a loss last year (I highly doubt it did, some form of creative accountancy to stop the council getting any money), so surely the major objective is to increase income now that the council have moved out their offices. 2. He did not remove them, they choose to move as a result of the increase in rent, which the Allams are fully with in their right to do. Whether something is right or not should not come into a business decision, the decision should purely be made on a logic, business and financial based arguement. Which both of these are. 3. Of course it should be developed, i have never cared about Hull Fair at all and why not make the KC the centre of something far bigger than just a stadium, it may regenerate the whole area like we should have done when the KC was initially built. 4. I doubt he had an idea who we was at the time. It is more likely he got into football when the KC was built and there who was a huge burst of media publicity, he then saw how much press Paul Dufffen got in the Premier League, maybe fancied a bit of that, and he probably bought the club for numerous business reasons to.
On point 1, the Allams didn't write the initial contractual agreements signed and agreed by both Hull City and Hull FC, they are merely expecting both parties to honour their contractual obligations so who is in the wrong?
They were negotiated and signed by Adam Pearson. The same man that didn't think Mr Whiteley was worth the £500 a season it seems that all this fuss was over. JUST PAY IT FFS. We could have had a whip round at tonights game and jobbed the lot. In fact, in the YEAR they've had to sort it it could have been jobbed for decades.
I never heard of him either Whiteley, think his brother was good on Countdown though r.i.p. I think the Allams are doing right v the eggchasers, am not a total believer in them or any football related businessmen as some people here will know but if FC don't pay for their privileges then they shouldn't have them. I wish they would clear off and join with the cities other eggchasers in their own stadium, just common business sense or it would be if they weren't as tribal as cavemen .
Personal insults are great guys and in answer to the Castle Hill questions, I have mentioned politely about the Daisy Building. I have a theory about the Uni of Hull and Castle Hill donations being linked but I would prefer to think of this as a great charitable gesture for now and not a case of buttering up one of Hulls largest land owners. This is not Hull City v Hull FC although it is being moved into this arena with a little help from the Allams (Hull City MD put forward to answer questions not SMC's MD?) I thought some of you guys would be as worried about this as the Hull fans, is £20k or £500 per year that important to the running of the Stadium when we pay around £600k per year in rent, or is this about showing who has the power at the stadium? I'm not aware that Hull FC havn't paid their rent for the office, shop or other rents agreed in the contract but please tell me if i'm wrong. I understand that the Allams have recently created a new fee for displaying images throughout the Stadium and not sure about the year as your MD stated that he paid the bill and has only been in post for 2 weeks?
So, have I got this right? A year ago, the SMC working to the contract negotiated by Adam Pearson, need to make the SMC run on a more business like footing and one option is to charge for what is in reality room hire (not really wall space). The only official figure ever quoted was for Deano's memorabilia, at £20 per game. FC fans, (a year later) shriek it's outrageous, get Councillors and the Daily Mail to waste time reporting it, and claim it can't be just the £20 Mr Allam's said it is it must be loads more. After much shrill shrieking and hurling abuse at Hull City and making racist and derogatory comments about Mr Allam (ignoring their own chairman who put it in place but refused to pay, such is the respect the Club held for their icon), the Club agree to pay the SMC, the EXACT amount they requested in the first place. Such is the skill of Mr Allam, he managed to get them to pay their way AND let them view it as a success. I know which of the groups comes out of this looking rather silly, which maintained a dignified dialogue and which hid in the background.
