If I knew what he was talking about I might even be offended...."Her rat got smash it half"? Can someone decipher this strange code from the ginger ninja...
What don't you get? Your Mrs' rat was smashed in half. 50/50 rat. Half a rat here, half a rat there. Rat parts of equal proportion. Need to solve 2 piece rat-jigsaw.
I always thought major trophies English teams compete for were the PL, FA cup and Champions league. Any other English league would be minor domestic league title, the League Cup would be a minor domestic cup and the Europa league would be a minor continental cup.
I disagree regarding the League Cup and Europa League which I would certainly regard as major trophies..
Don't get me wrong, I'd be over the moon if we won one of them but with them being greatly over shadowed by the FA cup and the Champions League I wouldn't consider them major next to the alternative.
I do think they have undermined the Europa League in the last decade or so by having far too many teams in the competition, but I would still regard it as a major trophy..The powers that be have also undermined the FA Cup with their constant changes of kick off times etc, and the fact that some clubs fans (ours included) do not turn up in numbers for FA Cup matches has not helped either..
I'd agree with that. It just seemed a desperate list to be honest. I've never really understood an individual need to claim some vicarious glory from their club's results. Football's about following your local team, even if it is filled with mercenaries. It's them that win or lose, not us.
We've still won more titles than Chelsea, City, Spurs and Newcastle even if it was before the ****ing earth cooled!
If it wasn't for some old bird getting knocked up in A Hull back alley in the 19th century, the game we are about to watch might never have happened. In fact it more than likely would have been a rugby match instead. And calling Hull a dump is a bit rich, I've been to Sunderland many times, it only reinforced my belief that nothing North of Whitby on the East Coast is worth visiting.
Wow ............ and here was me thinking the Northumberland coast was a designated AONB In fact it's the only one on the NE coast.
Sunderland as a City centre is below par, I think you'd struggle to find many who disagree with that. That's as a result of bad councils since the 70's and a chronic lack of funding but it's on the rise. Some of the surrounding areas however are absolutely beautiful. Further up the road, areas around Newcastle, are also beautiful. To suggest places like Durham, Northumberland and so on aren't worth visiting is simply untrue.
Indeed. South Shields, from whence I come, is an astonishingly attractive. Particularly the Ocean Road, with its exotic smells and colourful local characters.
