What do you do about the people who launch the ball behind your defense and then use their fastest player to sprint to the ball?
Attacking formations are the only way on FIFA, 10 defenders or not it's far too easy to skip round players, the only way to win is to get heavy possession and push forwards do when the opposition do get the ball they only have one or two men to do owt with and it's easy to get the ball back. My biggest gripe is me keep getting kicked off the ea servers, I've played 13 since Monday won 4 drawn 3 lost 1 although it says I lost 6 due to ea's **** servers booting me off early on and those games getting recorded as a 3-0 loss. Just half hour ago I was 2-0 up in the 87th when it happened and it went down as another ****ing 3-0 loss, I know it's nowt to do with my Internet as I've tested it on other things and it never kicks me off psn just ea's servers. Bullshit
They cant get behind the flat back five theres no space- it works a treat as it seems 90 percent of online players play like that so they get frustrated when you pass the ball around at the back and catch them on the break
Might give it a go in future but still learning the game really, only had an XBOX360 since March and mostly play Forza- my XBOX360 tag is Jacques Cracker if anybody bumps into somebody playing as the Tigers (me)
I have a totally different experience seems like playing with five at the back is the way to go for me
Sounds like a plan, I will try adjusting my formation. Does anyone play the online season? Is that how the club moves up the global rankings? I am a little confused how those global rankings work.
I plays seasons, not sure how that global rankings works. Ellewoods the best bet is to pick the flat back five option and use a lot of short passes, let them come onto you as they cant get past. It seems like if they cant get the ball in behind the defence a lot of them have no idea how to play any other way. The majority play attacking so usually when they lose possession there is space to run into. Had 2 promotions already from the bottom league playing like that.
It has only been 1 game but your flat back five just worked great against the lob. I won 3-0 with a koren hat trick against a live opponent in the online season.

I love Koren in the game, already hit the bar with him from the centre circle. Fryatt is pretty awesome as the lone striker but tried Proschwitz in that role and had no joy, tend to keep Fryatt on all game. Not tried Simpson yet.
I have had no luck at all with simpson he missed everything so I dropped him for Pro. Pro is slow as hell in the game but he can finish. Aluko is the leagues top scorer right now.
A back 5 won't work when you get into the higher divisions. I'm not exactly amazing at FIFA but I did win a Division 1 title on '12 - I don't need to penetrate the box to score 3 goals per game, and hundreds of others will be no different. Apart from the beginning of the season, (where everyone is in Division 10) the bottom tiers are ludicrously easy. I don't think I'd have the heart to carry on if I was that poor online - I didn't get FIFA 12 until late and I was banging 12 past those who didn't quit at 6 or 7.
I don't play online, only career mode. Anyone else play it? I'm still on FIFA 12 'til I get some cash, and I've got a career mode going with Real Madrid (Legendary Mode). It's really screwed up. I lost 4-2 at home to Levante, who were bottom and had won one of their first 20-something games, then won 11-3 away at 5th-placed Racing Santander
I play career mode as well. I have won the premier league with us. It is just real people that I can not seem to beat. I got no problem beating the computer with our players.
