maybe simpson is just relishing the chance to impress a manager he likes, hes said he was eager to play more under barmby and wasnt given a fair chance.. the more goals he bangs in the less chance of seeing mclean so often, so nice work simmo!
I said before that if the likes of Simpson can take their chance under Bruce then it will be like having a new signing. He;s doing his chances no harm tonight it would seem.
Interesting that the reason they didn't make a permanent move was the sell on clauses with Arsenal. I guess that means we weren't all that keen on letting him go in the first place if we were holding out for a fee that Millwall considered unrealistic rather than being prepared to cut our losses on him to get him off the wage bill. (Unless Barmby saying he'd give him a chance and then not playing him was one of the things that pissed the Allams off with their "not getting to smell the grass" comment, because we'd had the chance to not waste the money but had kept him for the manager)
