im not usually one for over confidence, but before Leeds came here, Sheff Weds were the poorest team ive seen this season. if we play anywhere near the level of our last home game, cant see anything other then a routine home win.
i think they key to this game is an early goal....if we score early we could embarras them but the longer we dont then the more optomistic sheff will get.. early city goal and 4-0(i hope)
Season 90/91 (?) we were arseholed 5-1 at Hillsborough with David Hirst scoring 4. An unforgettably bad performance in that disgraceful green and white away shirt. A truly horrific experience. Would love to reverse that tomorrow but I can see it being a 1-0/2-1. Also predicting David Burns using the phrase 'bite you on the bum game'. http://www.oldfootballshirts.com/img/shirts/30/hull-city-away-football-shirt-1990-1992-s_1513_1.jpg
Dogger, I used to have one of those shirts. I always liked it. Anyhow, I think Wednesday will park the bus and try and hit us on the counter. If we don't get an early goal it will be tough to break them down
Wednesday were, like someone posted, the worst side we'd played till L**ds failed to turn up the other day. It ought to be a massacre but...footy does not always go to script.
I was browsing OwlsTalk earlier, and apparently we're the worst team that one Wednesday fan has seen this season, 'apart from Wednesday'
when we played them we we not in a bad run and went there to grind a result out..not in our usual style but dogged display were only the result mattered. They may have a point but I feel sure that after a mini break and the perm signings being confirmed the lads will put on a show..I go for a win by at least 3
Both teams are much changed since that 1-0 Hillsboro winning day. The league table does not Lie. FACT.
Should be as simple as you put it, but no matter position were in im rarely confident before a game. We have never really been a 4-0, 5-0 winning type team, however a game like this id expect a solid 2-0 win. Never too fussed who bags the goals either aslong as we get the result, although would be nice to have a high scoring forward.
I think the same too. We're always sluggish after a bit of a break too. 1-1, 2-1 if we get an early goal.
After December we ought to go into any match thinking we are a class apart. We are a class apart. 3-0 to us.
It is on Setanta TV live here transmitting from 0415hrs. So it will be an early rise. I will be be plying him with mugs of tea on a regular basis whilst I press on with my Baltimore quilt(No 3). Know he has a soft spot for Sheffield Wednesday as he supported them against Everton in the 1966 FA Cup Final in what was the last match he saw before leaving England. It was the only Cup final ticket he had ever managed to get hold of and was a swap for a World Cup final ticket. Evidently was a superb match with Sheffield surrendering a 2 goal lead well into the second half to go down 2-3. He believes it will be a draw. He is always wrong so either a win or a loss from me.
