Indeed you can. But it's never going to be definitive. I'll leave you to make personal digs at others
I think that's when the FFP **** would hit the fan without either promotion or significant sales. But if we have 2 x 15-20m assets id expect it's the intention that one would most likely be sold this summer and the other one next in an ideal world.
You're only as good as your....?? I think that the club have a plan A and B for Jaden and Jacob. A is obviously the promotion scenario, but B I suspect has already been worked on long and hard and that they won't fall into the same trap of selling that we became accustomed to and that re-inforcements has already been identified.
And you only need to look at what Piroe went to Leeds for to make an educated guess at why we haven't brought in a current proven one at this level.
It'd have to be one who didn't make 35 league appearances, only contributed in 2 spells of 4 consecutive games during that season and was a passenger (or injured) for the rest of the time. That's not 'proven', consistent or reliable in my book, or evidently the clubs either.
If a striker wasn’t a oriroty then why did we sign 2, makes no sense. One of whom won’t be fit and upto speed until July, again makes no sense
Basically we want a Ferrari, but we could only get a deal on a vintage fiesta XR2 with half it's original horsepower and a Kia that still needs running in.
13 goals in a season is proof that he can score in the championship ( with a hell of a lot less service then he would have had this season) whether you like to admit it or not ( it doesn't matter how or when they where scored FFS ) Nobody in the team this season has averaged a goal every 2.69 games (carvalho is close) which he did. LR didn't want him in his squad for whatever reason ( mistake #1 ) but if you're going to take those goals out the team then you have to replace them, which we didn't ( mistake #2 ) and to not do it a second window in a row ( mistake #3 ) is just stupid. Its looking like we will miss out on the play offs ( if we do ) due to our inability to put the ball in the back of the net. We had someone in the squad who's proved he can do it ( you might not think he has but.... He has ). All of the above has to be a huge learning curve for both the club and LR
Replacing Greaves will be hard to take (unless you’re Charon) but I think Cashin at Derby would be a good replacement. Replacing Philogene’s goals and assists would be much more difficult. Remember we sold KLP and his replacement was Sinik. We also have to sign all new strikers next season as Delap and Ohio are loans and Connolly and Sharp probably won’t be here next season either. Selling one or two high-value assets is fine but it’s made more complicated when you have to sell and replace them on top of replacing all the loanees you have. It’s essentially another large squad overhaul which to me suggests something isn’t quite right. Look at the match day squad against Leicester. Next summer we lose Carvalho, Zaroury and Morton to their parent clubs, Traoré, Christie, Sharp and Connolly probably all on frees and probably sell Philogene and Greaves. That’s 9 of our current players in an almost fully-fit (barring Delap, who will also go back to Man City) and strongest match day squad of 20. Acun has provided incredible backing to Rosenior in terms of transfers. As best as he can within the rules.
City are on track to finish with around 72 points this season, which is normally about the average amount of points needed to secure 6th. I think in another season we’d be quite confident of being in the play offs. Interestingly, in 2007/08 we finished third with 75 points. Although, I don’t think it’s necessarily getting harder. Wolves failed to make the playoffs in 2014/15 with 78 points, so there have been tougher years.
I think if he'd contributed 13 consistently over a season instead of all 13 in 2 short hot spells, and when he wasn't scoring was some actual use to the team as a unit then it'd significantly help your argument. It's as if you think Liam, Tan and Acun have gone into a room and agreed to offload the next Mo Salah for no good reason FFS!
Two people on this thread openly saying we have missed out on the play-offs. That’s utterly crazy, it’s not even Easter yet.
He’s made some mistakes regarding transfers but nobody can complain about him not backing the manager. If there was a choice between keeping Acun as owner or Rosenior as manager, I’d choose Acun every time. Unfortunately, I think Acun will sell if we don’t get promoted to the Premier League within a certain timeframe. His words and actions are not that of someone with a 5-7 year plan to get to the Prem. If we’re not a Premier League club by 2025 I think he’ll seriously consider selling up and ****ing off.
Exactly. There's a realistic chance we won't, but there's a realistic chance we will. If Norwich keep up the current form then it'll be tough, but it wasn't so long ago their fans wanted the manager out. And they'll have to go some to sustain their current scoring rate.
