It’s not a case of how much time we think he should be given, it’s a case of how much time Acun thinks he should be given and it clearly looks like his time’s not up yet. I think he’s done some crap things and I’m not convinced he can turn things around (particularly as I know some of players don’t rate him), but it is what it is. We played well today, if we keep playing well I expect us to win some games, I don’t think we’re ’sleepwalking into League One’.
FFS...Last week you were inconsolable and didn't want him sacked, this week you're decrying people who think he should be given a chance? For what it's worth,I'm now at the point where I think the Owner needs to (A) Publicly back him OR (B) Pay him what he's owed and wish him well...His(Acun's) input is overdue!!
Our ratio of chances made to goals scored must be somewhere in the region of 5 to 1. Every team in the league will know that if you get two, restrict Hull and your going to win. Simple as.
The players have never bought into the style of the play and neither have the crowd. He’s one of the most rigid managers we’ve ever had, just behind Rosenior (I rate Rosie over this bloke, but he’s more experience at this level). He has no plan B, he doesn’t change formation at all from game to game let alone in games. With a formation reliant on wingers we have none. He’s had some bad luck but most managers do. Get shot begged we walk into League 1.
Let's all hope that the 21st(Luton) don't buck the trend in a fortnights time...And yes,Pandur has pulled off some top class saves this season.
Most managers don’t lose their two most skilful attacking players for a season within two weeks of each other. Mcann was more rigid and he got us promoted .
To be fair I've been thinking the same. He is our captain fantastic but despite his great attitude and all that he constantly leaves gaps and needs to improve
We don’t deserve our wins because the opposition created some chances is amongst the daftest things you hear on here. That’s literally how every football match works.
Unless there is a clause in his contract, ask yourself this. Even if the owner wants to see the back of Walter, can he afford to give him the tin-tack?
It doesn’t matter if we’ve had patches of good play. Outside of our three wins we’ve scored 6 and conceded 17.
McCann is an interesting comparison. I was astonished when we were relegated that he wasn't sacked off; he'd lost the team, the fans, the press and was a dead man walking. However keeping him on was obviously the correct decision.
Oh god yeah. And that means we will play way that forever, without any chance of it ever changing. For centuries. Sorry, I see your visionary genius now.
Brady, you’ve flipped between Walter In and Walter Out more than you’ve changed your shreddies in the last few weeks.
Reasonable excuse if we lost them after a game or 2 but they've only missed a game or 2. All teams have injuries
We can play as 'well' as we like. I thought we looked good first half at Oxford, we controlled the Sheffild United game (they were happy for us to have the ball just like WBA today), we matched Sunderland (ish), we probably out played someone for most of a match BUT we cannot turn possession into points because we need 20 chances to convert 1 and we don't create anywhere near enough and we aren't going to with this approach and the players available for selection. We are heading one way with Tim in charge and it isn't up.
Perhaps our players ought to try for the half time 'crossbar challenge' as we seem to be quite good at hitting it...
I think the current squad overall is stronger than last season’s. Yes, we had some players that have since moved for a lot of money from both us and their parent clubs but I think people forget that in most cases, they either weren’t with us for the whole season, either because they only came in January or because of injury but also that they had up and down spells in terms of form. We also had a very weak bench, certainly for the first half of the season. It did look weak today but that’s because of the number of injuries to first team players and the Zambrano suspension. However, Tim has had most of the squad available until the last few games and apart from that 3 game purple patch, the system hasn’t paid off. I’m convinced that Rosie would have got more out of this squad both before and since the injuries. Just my opinion. Nothing against Tim personally, I just don’t see that this system is going to be successful in the Championship and I don’t want us to leave it too late to make the change to save the season.
