First half was pretty good for neutrals, I reckon. Plus at least your back line is good.

Don't think you guys have anything to worry about. Your defence is really decent, and you use the wings very well. I understand that Rosenior has been good for you this season, so he will give you that pace again down the flanks and get balls into your new strikers. It is nice to see you playing with two frontmen, it gives you more targets in the box and they will get goals. Both have the PL experience. You are far too good to get relegated, and Bruce too good a manager. All the best guys.

Southampton were the better side but having missed most of their chances and Harper having made a few good saves we really should have been able to score one to sneak a draw.

The only players I was disappointed with were Boyd who seems to have no confidence in his ability to beat a man. He just turns back every time he gets in a good position which is a shame because he's actually quite good when he does run at people and Figueroa who was just plain ****e. I'm not really sure what he brings to the side. He can kick the ball hard but that's it really isn't it? He can't defend as well as Bruce or McShane and when he gets the ball he just hoofs it every time without fail. He's the opposite of Boyd; he thinks he's ****ing ace but he's really not. Did he actually control a ball at any point tonight rather than just smacking it without thought?

Long seems to be one of these players who annoys refs and then gets nothing from them. People just chuck him about in plain sight and it's fine.

No break to Macca's ankle - but ligaments always take ages to heal. We'll have to wait and see, but I've a horrible feeling he might not be back this season...

Fair play to Soton, far far better team. Work their bollocks off too. Goal was coming for about ten minutes before it did. No one reacts to ahoof to their right wing. Get a corner and its knocked out. Elmo goes to sleep and jogs out doesnt pick up a man and it s header across the goal. They deserved to win but it was a poor goal to concede.

My next pet hate. Our ****ing **** free kicks! Set pieces are such an important part of the game now and we are absolutely **** at them. Blast the **** out of the ball!! No no we like to do this **** chipped curler that sails over the bar or straight to the keeper. Drives me ****ing mental.

Agreed with all of this. The last two home games we've conceded from a set piece we've cleared but then no one's pushed out apart from Huddlestone. There's no point clearing it if everyone is just going to stay and wait for the next one to come in. Get the **** out out of the box as a team.

My other pet hate. Throw ins. Soton flood men round our throw in making us give it away. Their throw ins and we just let them knock it straight to a man and play it about keeping possession. Pressurise the ****ers

Apart from the first 15 minutes, when they could and should have scored three, we just about held our own I thought.

In fact that's nonsense they played us off the park so why did Bruce leave it so long to make changes?

I said to my boy that we'd go one down before he did anything sub wise.

We then bring on our most gifted play maker only to keep going down route one for the most part, completely by passing him in the process.

    Baffling.

Southampton are a brilliant team, and I've thought this all Season. They're a couple of World Class players away from establishing themselves as European contenders every Season. They're pass and move game is a joy to watch, and we were ran and passed off the pitch. Those morons texting into BBC Radio Humberside after the game saying, "We were diabolical", "Embarrassing performance" etc etc. need a high five in the face with a chair.

Is it really that hard to admit that a team came to the KC, closed us down fast, in groups and choked our midfield making us pass poorly and resulting in us playing hopeful hoof-ball for 90 minutes? They had a game plan, and they executed it. We couldn't play, and as much as we wanted to get it on the ground and play as we usually do, we couldn't as every time we tried, we were closed down and lost the ball.

I thought the substitutions should have come earlier, but I don't really have any complaints. Jelavic did well IMO, considering the lack of service all match. The thing I like about the S'oton team is that they're using a lot of young English players, and they really look like the real deal. Brilliant team and, let's not forget, they're a year and £40 odd million ahead of us...

    Onwards and upwards.

Our second worst game of the year...both against Southampton. We were totally outclassed. Could have been 3-0 after 10 minutes...just like the away game. With West Ham's revival its going to be a battle for that third relegation spot (after Fulham and Cardiff).

We flattered them with our utter ****eness. Their defence lapped up those long balls all day long.

Huddlestone for England? Are you having a laugh. Lazy ****er needs dropping. Only positive was a reminder of Alukos confidence when he has the ball at his feet.

You will stay up, your defence is a lot better than most of the teams in the bottom half, if not all. I'd be very surprised if you finished lower than 15th.

    Southampton are a top side.

Something I hope we can emulate (not very likely, but you can live in hope).

Apart from the weak clearance for the goal, we defended pretty well, but had nowt upfront.

When we did play down the line and crossed it over, rather than hoof it down their centre half's throat, we did ok. We probably should've done better. But we seemed to stop doing this after 25 minutes.

Aluko & Brady should've been brought on earlier.

I have no complaints, they got their tactics spot on & fully deserved their win.

I think the problem with Boyd was every time he got the ball he was isolated with two Southampton players on him, very difficult to beat players when you receive the ball and you're static.

I'm undecided about Southampton having seen them tonight, they close the ball down exceptionally well, but we were very guilty of being really careless with the ball. Probably as bad as I have seen us play this season, was that down to the opposition, or was that down to key players having an off day?

Not just free kicks - Corners, do we practice them? They are diabolical.
