Tonight has confirmed a fair few assumptions tbf, Giles is clearly our best lb, Simmons looks like he'll be important this year, Seri needs to be in that cm and the young lads just aren't quite there yet

We have such a lack of quality in the final third.
Our home form over the last couple of season is abysmal. .

We have no real killer instinct in and around the box, Sellars-Flemming and Jarvis for me haven't stepped up, so will be interesting who the dream team believe can get us a few goals

Good Manager bet we would have been half decent with him back.

So, here's the problem for me.

Acun has seen Walter's football at Hamburg, thought "that's exactly what I want" and then he expected what we have to be able to play like this, seemingly not realising that Hamburg's squad is much better than ours.

You could stick Pep in charge of Barnet, they wouldn't suddenly end up playing like Man City and beasting the Conference.

In short, we need high quality players to play a more technical system. If we can't get the players, then abandon the system for something simpler.

Agree. Add to that Slater and Omur look average under Walter so far. Not sure Omurs best position in this system?

As soon as Millar, Omur and Mehlem went off, and Giles moved up field we’ve looked crap.

Something not many managers are willing to do unfortunately. The system seems to come before anything else. McCann, Rosenior and now Walter all making players fit the system rather than the system fitting the players.. But its what Acun wants isnt it..
