None of them had any composure.

Probably because the haven't a ****ing clue what to do.

You could see it on their faces.

We know we have a solid enough defensive and midfield options who have played under a few managers and looked more solid.

    Even they look lost.

Treading water after 5 games...If the $hitshow continues up to chrimbo I can see Colin here for the duration. Him or someone who knows the championship like the back of his hand...Sadly Tim has zero experience and he isn't going to learn it on his Jack Jones anytime soon.

    well that was ****.

I still don't really know what the plan is, and it appears the players don't either. We can't do the basics, passing is still sloppy, we take an age to shoot and we're soft as ****e. Sheff U took several yellows to stop counter attacks, we let them cut us apart.

If you don't have the players for a system, play in a more pragmatic way. Doesn't have to be prime Pulis ball, but make a solid foundation to build from. We're all over the place and don't look like scoring the goals that we concede.

Yeah, not only is there nobody anywhere near the centre circle, and the whole team is closer to their box than the halfway line. The man furthest back is a lightweight attacking winger.

And after you get punished for it once early in the game, the team still ends up in exactly the same position at least 2 more times. I really would be interested to hear the reasoning, and how he’d attempt to justify setting up like that. As the commentator said, it’s just madness.

Burns looked injured or ill, absolute ghost of a performance. We didnt have a centre midfield until he went off.

Aside from the cock ups and the ****e ref, so many things are wrong with this team.

The back four never have anyone to pass to.
Theres a dearth of movement across the whole team.
We’ve got a striker who’s in the team to attack the ball but play inverted wingers so they never get a cross in.
We somehow get caught on the counter attack despite never getting anyone forward - the whole team sits in the space between the half way line and in front of the opposition box.

Literally nothing about our play is any good. We’re again relying on individuals to make something happen rather than the system delivering the chances.

Its basically Rosenior football but with a higher line and ****ter players.

    A view from a neutral.
Christ hull were a hard watch tonight. Nearly 70% possession and created one chance from open play. 16 corners and barely got one into the box
Lots of pretty passing but nothing too show other than 2 goals conceded from their own corners

I get this,I'm sure the last thing he needs is a bunch of deflated players being slaughtered on live T.V.

Flip side of that,is telling them that's the best performance yet and he's proud of them?

2nd half we were a lot better, that wasn't difficult given the 1st half performance. But our gung-ho attacking with little or no defence and our failure to score goals can only be papered over for so long.

I agree. I really like Walter and want him to succeed. I hope it starts to click soon. I do have my doubts as to whether he’s the right man for the job due to his kamikaze style of football. It’s a bit similar to Postecoglou’s philosophy. It’s just chaotic and it either works and he gets praise for having a fearless mentality or it doesn’t and he gets hammered by fans, pundits etc. for being reckless. Even Postecoglou got a bit of a pasting by pundits for his lack of pragmatism when Spurs lost 4-1 to Chelsea at home, had two players sent off and still had the defensive line in Chelsea’s half.

Even if it doesn’t work out and he gets the sack, the blame ultimately rests higher up than Walter.

Agree with most of your comments but don’t agree the ref was ****e.Seemed quite willing to hand out bookings against the Blunts early on which could have inhibited them if we had put them under pressure.

We could have had about 10 penalties as McLoughlin was dragged to the floor at every corner. That tackle on Omur looked a red but I havent seen it back.

Omur played well in the middle but otherwise we were pretty useless.

We’re that bad at corners teams will be purposely giving us them in the hope of going up the other end of the pitch and scoring.

Not sure I’m into the centre backs running forward into the box either. I appreciate it’s different but they’re defenders for a reason, let’s keep em there.

I think we’re missing that bravery to play in the middle more, hopefully once Alzate is up to speed along with Zambrano they can start breaking the lines and linking up play.

It was very Rosieball tonight, playing across the back four and going to the wing every time.

To Concede the first goal the way we did was criminal

Melhem is garbage - how did he stay on 90 minutes? Give me Slater any day

I don't see where our goals are coming from

There was one moment today where a ball went out to the wing and both Mcloughlin and Millar were in the same position out wide. For some reason, Millar (the winger) let Mcloughlin (the centre back) take the ball and attempt the cross. It was easily blocked.

I understand the concept of having the centre-backs rotate into empty space in midfield to beat the press. When I watched some full match replays of Hamburg and clips from when he managed Holstein Kiel it looked slick and choreographed. However, I’m afraid McLoughlin just lacks the mobility to do this ‘pass and move’ into space quickly and effectively. He’s so cumbersome on the ball. Our back four don’t yet look comfortable doing it. Even Coyle, who has stood out this season as being one of our better players, is still struggling to adjust because nine times out of ten he will turn inside to play the pass back to Jones.
