Geez. How much did the great train robbers get in 1965...? Be about £6 to 7 million today, at a guess.
Can’t always go by these figures to make comparisons. According to that the Levis I bought then for £2 would be £32 now. An E type Jaguar would be about about £36,000 now. Or 11 pints of beer would be £16. (If only). On the other hand anything electrical is a lot less now.
Get out of here... Bruce Reynolds...the mastermind, but not necessarily the Mr Big! The Syrup was only brought in as a late sub, because he once worked on the trains. Bit like a kid coming on for his first game in the FA Cup final and getting the winner.
I never knew that Bill, I of cause remember St Peter's a bit of rivalry with WAKAM I seem to remember. As you say a true gentleman, I used to chat with him at the KC before games occassionally.
I think City will ultimately win, hopefully put in a good performance, however, I don’t think it’ll be an easy game. I expect there’s going to be more boo’s at half time than cheers as we struggle to break down a stubborn team sitting back. I hope I’m wrong & LR has been working on moving the ball quickly around the opposition & getting the ball into the forward or forwards as the case may be.
A bit of a coincidence, I was only thinking about this cartoon the other day. An old uncle of mine gave me a heap of Tiger Mags back in the fifties and I remember seeing this in one of the additions, then The Early Tiger posted it.
Bloody ell, think it will definitely get over 22k and probably close to 23…. Amazing, gonna be some atmosphere on Saturday
First time virgins, badly printed tickets, queues, bag searches and general thick ****s in bright orange hats and scarves. There should be a special fast track gate for us 606 real fans.
Said it before but print at home shouldn't be a thing. It was a tacky way for businesses to outsource printing costs onto customers and it's now been made obsolete by better technologies anyway. Mobile QR codes would be fine except the scanners at the MKM don't have enough space under them to easily align a QR code on a mobile. Works if you turn it sideways but loads of people don't figure that out (understandably). It really shouldn't be an issue in the modern age.
