Who are you trying to kid? We all know you met him and discussed mutual interests.
Even I can't be outside the MKM at 2 pm ,and inside the pub at 2 pm, and I was in the latter at 2 pm. :emoticon-0100-smile

The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.

I thought Vern was at the other side of that glory hole at the loos near the marina at 2pm?

Was he elsewhere?

*asking for a friend...

But is he? He’s no Geovanni or even a Seri.

2 goals 1 assist in 848 minutes (less than 10 games)

A goal contribution average of about 1 in 3.

If he's not good enough at this level, then what the **** was Saint George - freddie mercurial - Honeymonster playing at then?

Have player expectations really gone that far off the map after a single summer window?

Sorry, but that’s bollocks. We were rumoured to be in for Ndayishimiye (who’s having a class season apparently) in July and someone on here said we were close to signing him but couldn’t agree personal terms. That shows we wanted one as early as July. The fact we panicked and signed Ryan Woods and some Chelsea academy player on loan instead is poor planning on Acun and the recruitment team’s part.

I never said we didn't want one all summer, I said we couldn't get a decent one in. Ozdemir turned us down too, as did Yokoslu who went back to West Brom and Dor Peretz. I'm sure there were others as well.

We seemed to go for Woods and Simons as attainable options instead of ones that make a difference

At the time, personally I thought Dor Poretz was a bit uninspiring after Youssouf turned us down. I'm not too gutted we kept our powder dry on him.

That's utter tosh. We signed Salah for the long term and not just for the here and now. That's also why we took him injured. It's not everyday that a club of our size can sign a top young talent.

You can say the Chelsea lads were pointless signings as they were squad fillers mind.

If there was a quality defensive midfielder that we could've signed, we would have. We didn't just sign a Chelsea kid instead, it would've been a last resort

Not sure how you can say the Chelsea lads are pointless signings or squad fillers.

As all the experts said Vale is one of the best young prospects in the country, should have been at a prem club this season and a massive deal that we’ve managed to sign him.

Well then it's up to him to live up to that.

But you don't sign a kid who's played less than 90 of first team football to be a sure-fire starter in the championship. Whoever 'they' think they might be or may be yet to become.

Vale probably is one of the best prospects in the country. But that don't mean he's ready for the Championship at 19.

He's probably good enough for us right now but I'm not sure our current predicament needs another youngster

When I’ve watched him, he seems to be a player that does do much, maybe I’m missing something, but yesterday, I think he had 1 shot, then offside, he was subbed for a reason, which was, he was impacting the game.
Outside of his 2 goals & 1 assist, has he had a major impact on any games? If so, what?

He’s a natural winger in a position we’ve been playing two ‘ordinary’ central midfielders, in a team that’s crying out for width. If he’s one of the best prospects in the country and he’s not good enough for the championship by 19, the England set up has very dark times ahead indeed.

Honestly mate, I think physical demands of a 'second tier' competition have taken most of the foreign imports by surprise if you ask quietly. Hence the injuries even in training.

It really doesn't. He's only just 19 and got his rep mostly at u18s level. For club and Country.
