I saw this, he booted it cause the physio deliberately threw a second ball on the pitch, I think no one else stepped up as non of the city players saw what happened.....but I get your point
Yes it was - but the way some post on here it’s like relegation is inevitable. If we keep the same form we’ve shown since Selles came in we’ll probably stay up.
The question is, why is home form so poor....it's been the same for the last 3/4 managers? Is the pitch? Is the fans? The players style? We should have won last night, the first 20 minutes, should have turned in to control, but we just slowed the pace and allowed them back into it. Pedro, looked tired and Joseph should be a similar option for legs which is what that role requires but it's frustrating that the game just passed us by
Hasn’t always been the case but we are now at a point I feel that the second a goal goes in for the opposition the atmosphere falls flat and this air of non confidence creeps in. Up until Pedro’s goal against Leeds you felt it which is somewhat understandable 3-1 down to league leaders. I think at the moment we just don’t have a good enough team to take the game to someone and control for long periods. We’ve got some industrious midfielders and wingers with very little quality. It says a lot we look somewhat better off the ball and create a lot of our better moments in transition.
No, and to be fair I couldn't get across last night, so I may have felt differently having watched yet another home defeat in person. I just don't feel that the situation is as dire as some make out, as form teams in this division are never an easy ask.
Thinking back to the Bruce era, for the large part, in the Champ at least, there was confidence we'd manage to get something out of games, even a last minute equaliser. Of course the quality of the team is vastly different but barring the Leeds game we've looked pretty deflated in the closing parts of games. We could have played for another 30 minutes last night and QPR would have been the most likely to score. Even in and around their area, it just wasn't coming off for us.
I think our team last night must have been one of the slowest proffesional football teams ive ever seen Think big vern could out pace some of our players
I don't know, I thought that Tree looked pretty incisive and would have made the difference if he'd had longer.
All about opinions, but surprised some are saying we weren't too bad. And that Drameh was ok until their 2nd. It was dreadful and he was dreadful. Alzate showed a bit of quality but that was about it. How low our standards & expectations seem to have dropped. Worryingly, it will be a few weeks before we have new signings fully up to speed (if we can keep them fit and not lose even more key players); it's not 'just' a matter of fitness, but also integration, gelling, etc.
its only natural, expectations naturally drop, we arent fighting for promotion staying up is a huge success this season but we werent dreadful really, it was two evenly matched teams, it was scrappy, and their extra bit of attacking quality was the difference in a 46 league season, you have some meh performances we know we are woeful attacking wise, its why we have/are bringing in like 5 players or so
I'm not sure I agree. We've already seen some late goals under Selles, and after Gelhardt scored it felt like we were more likely to find an equaliser - I can't recall a solid chance QPR had after we scored.
yeah i prob making too much of a deal with it, it just seemed his argument with the players all a foot taller then him, went on quite a while and nobody wandered across to back him up, but you are maybe correct , they didnt see it. i just think that type of thing happens a lot, other teams all pile in, we often seem very passive. i imagine our lads would be great company on a night out, nice blokes , a good laugh. but best hope you dont run into trouble with the bouncers, youll be getting thrown out while they watch and finish their prosecco. we need a couple of bastards who love a scrap.
It’s most likely posters doubling down in Drameh They demanded him to play as Coyle is **** Now he’s playing he’s bloody awful but they won’t admit it He was dreadful last night
It also showed in injury time when their guy won a free kick and laid on the floor a bit, their big right back ran up and almost hugged him to death in a show of appreciation.
we dont seem to have a championship standard fullback, or maybe one but, he just doesnt like playing for us.
