As welcome as that win was ...I fear it just once again papers over the cracks so to speak. Selles (and us) got lucky today. I'm not saying they weren't penalties but neither were from stopping certain goals. It was yet another game since the break that we have been so poor in attacking terms. 2 penalties saved us. Again no 'normal' goal. We've had 2 pens, 1 fortunate deflection and a last gasp wonder goal in our last 6. It's shocking. Motm was 38 y.o. Amrabat, coz he ran his heart out and tried to make something happen. 2 long range shots from defenders and thats about it. 1st half was poor and I don't think Selles got it right, but the fight and urgency was good to see 2nd half. I don't see where the goals will come from to beat Derby or Portsmouth and I doubt we can rely on penalties or whatever like we had to do today.
Sorry to piss on the parade but just adding some realism. Of course I hope Selles and the team prove me wrong in these last two, but I fail to see why anyone should expect they will. We have to hope.
I agree in part, certainly the part about not creating great chances, their players don't give those fouls away and I'm not sure we're scoring from either opportunity and outside of the pens we didn't create a massive amount, but, and just like everyone else we've played in the last 2 months, nor did the opposition. Our style at the moment is what it is, we keep it tight at the back don't concede too many chance but don't create that many either. Safety first and try to nick it, which frankly is the approach of over half the championship. Fair to say it's worked so far when you consider where we were when he took over, it's reminiscent of roseys first half season, came in inherited a basket case and just focussed on the basics. Give him a proper pre season and transfer window and let's see what he can do

I can’t work out if it’s typical City or reverse typical City to get our first two back to back wins under Selles to secure safety this weekend.

Or if it’s typical City for us to just lose.
