I think we are safe and won’t make the playoffs, so I’d like to see Simmons given a run in the team. If Liam is as impressed with him as he says and we all agree woods and seri doesn’t seem to work, then there’s no real reason why he shouldn’t

 

For all the slating of Woods' pass accuracy his accuracy was significantly better than Seri's from more passes (31 accurate passes for Woods, 20 for Seri).

Gerry was always a good player. I used to watch him play on a Sunday morning on the local council park across from my house for a team called Victoria. He was outstanding then and it was always a mystery why City didn't pick him up. He also played on a Saturday for Hull Brunswick at a decent level, another poster on here knew him well and he might post something? We had Ken Wagstaff and Chris Chilton at that time, both still in their prime when Gerry was a youngster, and that maybe accounts for him being overlooked. We also missed out on Kevin Keegan playing for Scunthorpe across the river. Gerrys brother was a big character in local football in Hull and ran a top Sunday League team called Lord Nelson, on North Hull Estate where Gerry lived. I went to the same school as them both.
