I reckon, if the game plan is to hoof the ball aimlessly up the pitch, bypassing the midfield, you may as well shove some of the midfield up the pitch so there's a chance the ball will land near one of our players.
Stand out moments, in the build up to the free kick that gave them their second goal we were fannying about around our penalty area with a handful of our players tapping the ball about eventually resulting in the error which gave them the free kick. On the other hand in the second half when we were in their penalty area one of their players steps in and hoofs the ball far far away, their lone attacker against our 2 defenders runs harries and chases the ball eventually winning a throw in halfway up our half of the pitch which the subsequently wasted 5 minutes of time to take. Oh and the Eaves back heel to their player and then just stood and watched them pass it around. They wanted to win, we looked like we didn't care.
Doc... Emmanuelle, Honeyman, Elder, Burke.... that has to be the start a good side... the trouble is the rest aren't within a mile of where they are...
Nothing much to add to what has already been said. Currently no threat up front and defensively we are making stupid, costly errors. Pompey were not good, but then they didn't have to be tonight. Just hope this dip in form is not going to last as long as it did last season.
Has Terry lost the key to the dressing room? A rerun of last season! Strap in. Its going to get hairy.
What a bizarre year. January to July, ****ing awful. August to November, reputation alone results in, umm, good results. December, ****ing awful. I'm at a loss to explain it. I can't think what might have caused it. I'm clueless about what to do about it. Apart from blaming then sacking Grant ****ing McCann obviously. Just go you ****. Go. You're ****ing useless. Absolute ****e. Garbage. The worst manager this club has ever had. Bab. Caka. ****e on a shoe.
It can't be long before someone trots out the old excuse about the players being nervous, afraid to make mistakes, intimidating silence from the stands etc
Honeyman apparently played with an injury for two games and has missed the last two. Look at the performances and results and draw your own conclusions.
No problem ! Tomorrow’s game against Sunderland will be reasonably easy. 3 points clear by Boxing Day!
Glad I completely forgot about the kick off time and got distracted. But as we know, Grant's the greatest, anyone being negative is a massive knob.
I personally think the players looked nervous, afraid to make mistakes and the intimidating silence from the stands played on their minds. If I played in that team I'd be thankful fans are forbidden from attending games - saves having to dodge missiles. I'm also of the opinion the inept manager and his miserable sidekick need replacing along with the two main strikers they have now. Nice work if you can get it!
