11 points over the next 5 games… 3 wins and 2 draws, you heard it here first…now back to my packing… not sure how many pairs of shorts to take but 2 city shirts are a must.
With the players we have we shouldn't be in the position we are. I think with a Pullis, Mowberry, Warncock type manager we would be in a better position. Strategies, philosophys, secret and special formulas just complicate things. It's a game of football KISS (keep it simple stupid)
No. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us lose and still stay up. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
That's one of the reasons I'm glad we've now got Selles. Of course he has his own ideas on how he'd like his teams to play, he's an intelligent manager but doesn't pretend his is some unique magical philosophy (a la Rosenior and Walter) or that he's some 'special one' before actually achieving anything of note. We'll never know what a Pullis, Mowbray, Warnock would have done with this squad. With them we'd still surely be wondering where the hell the goals will come from, and that, along with not addressing remaining weakness in January (and the potential impact of just 1 or 2 more significant injuries or bans) is the main issue; one that may well do us come May.
Depends on opinion of deep ****. I think deep **** is when it's not in your own hands - in bottom 3 with no games in hand. I think we are just in the ****, it's not deep... yet
I think Cardiff was more of a must win game putting us on 36 points and six points clear of Plymouth and creating a gap between us and Derby and luton
I'm sure they do under Selles, as they would have done under Rosenior and Walter too. I posted a few months ago a detailed breakdown of how few goals we have within our squad based on their past couple of seasons. Imo it was jaw droppingly bad. It seemed like the recruitment team (brains team) had overlooked this minor detail! If that isn't in them then it's unlikely to be solved by "practicing kicking the ball at the goal". As has been said on here, it isn't just about the forwards, it's right across the team and squad, from defence to attack.
It touches on what Kalman keeps saying They don’t like the responsibility and would rather pass. I’ve praised crooks a lot as he appears to be one who does want that and will shoot. But Against Sunderland he passed it rather than shoot So they’ve infected him too which is worrying
One with 20+ degree heat, cheap beer, amazing fresh bread and a view to die for… lol I won’t mention the straight jacket as it ****ing don’t half itch !!!
I think Sellés has introduced a streak of pragmatism that maybe Rosenior and Walter didn’t have. I wasn’t a fan of us having less than 40% possession, sitting deep against the likes of Boro and hoofing it long every time we got it back from an entertainment perspective and also because it just invites pressure and leads to things like us conceding against Boro in the manner we did. However, it worked a lot better against the likes of Blackburn, Sheffield United and Sunderland away and we got all nine points in those games. Letting the opposition have most of the ball then hitting them quickly with counter-attacks worked a treat against stronger opposition, especially away. Where we still struggle, and this has been the case under Rosenior, Walter and now Sellés, is playing against equal or inferior opponents who sit deep against us, especially at home. We are awful at breaking down teams that sit deep and more often than not we succumb to their counter-attacks and concede against the run of play. It’s a huge issue and why I’m not confident at all about Tuesday.
I’m coming to the conclusion footballers are thick as **** and have been so over coached they can hardly make a decision for themself and would try and beat three oppos to pass a ball back to a defender than turn and go forward to the goal.
