(Just to show daft git Sumatran how it's done) I've reached my age, you have no guarantee whatsoever of reaching it. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Doncaster Rovers away, a 1-0 defeat, they'd won three games all season, finished with a record low number of points, and had one full time pro playing. Very few, if any, clapping seal types applauded City off that day. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It was a small minority that actually booed. Some of which near me. Think there was a general panic/discourse as we had just conceded then gave up a big chance due to a mistake.
It’s not a perennial thing, it’s only recently in the last few years. Greaves got a few last year but can’t even think of him getting his head to a set piece this season. There’s probably something to do with mentality, as in the teams that tend to be a real threat at set pieces are the ones that come out to do battle. Macca, Jones, Greaves even Christie, all prettt big and good in the air. Opposing centre halves aren’t big meatheads in comparison, so there’s no good reason really why we’re so weak at them.
I'm seriously saying it Dont you remember a few weeks back loads of people were going on about how unfit he was. I know miracles can happen!
It's a fact that I'm younger than you, it's also a fact that you're a terrible advert for old age. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Most people understand that playing out from the back competently can create spaces further up field by attracting the opposition players into our final third. The key word here is competently. Playing out from the back incompetently either gifts the opposition a clear route to our goal, or presents the ball back to the opposition in our own half because players like Mclouglin and Jones don't have the ability to look up when they have the ball at their feet and make an accurate pass further than twenty feet in the direction they are facing. What really pisses me off however is the number of times we win a free kick in the opponents final third and rather than look for a quick pass down the wing, or a ball into the opposition's box, we instead pass it back to the halfway line usually to a centre back who then panics and passes it back to the goalie. Slater and Seri do this all the ****ing time.
I personally feel its down to some of the lads outside of set training to go out of their way to try and address the corner situation. I've read in the past of players who made it big who had reportedly stayed behind for hours after training and practised. From all of the lads perspectives, if they are seen as a goal scorer from set pieces alongside their defensive duties that has to affect their market value and ultimately their earnings. Of course they can just go and sit and have a coffee instead to pass the afternoon...
Morton’s deliveries are very good and varied , we have two defenders who don’t put their heads in like lots of modern young players , need to protect their looks for Facebook or something - if they’d played street footie or on the local field they’d be less worried about it - tarts!! LOL
