I have just looked at the formations per BBC website for yesterday. We played 4-2-3-1 Plymouth played 3-4-2-1 (two in front of midfield supporting one player further forward) 3 up front - 5 1 striker - 5 2 up front - 4 Same as Plymouth - 3 2 up front with 1 supporting - 1 If you have one striker they should be more mobile than Connolly
A simple question not inviting criticism... if you could only have one playing would you choose Connolly or Delap...
So failing to score yesterday was nothing to do with Jaden being greedy so many times after we scored , he got in great positions to look up and find a man but shot high over the bar . Yes he contributed to second half domination and we are really lucky to have him,he does things no other player can do at this level but the management were ambitious . I’m sure he will learn , I wish Slater didn’t rush so much the ball does bounce of him a bit because he’s trying to run before he’s got it . lots of things contributed to the result yesterday , Plymouth pressed us but were very mobile and athletic in attack . Their goal came from poor positioning and Christie showing his defensive frailty . Vinagre had no support nobody inside him or on the overlap . Should Allsop have done better on the goal? We missed Tufans quick feet and Lokilo wing play even as subs that was unfortunate , as ST said be brave and try your subs
Our right sided defenders turn inside all the time Jones has always been a culprit , I guess it’s safety first , or is it lack of outlets ?
Like the vast majority of wingers her will do some brilliant things some of the time - but at other times he will make the wrong decision. We will then get frustrated with him because he isn't brilliant all of the time. It's just what you get from wingers.
A bit like when Rosie is constantly shouting and gesticulating at the refs when they make a **** decision. His just expressing his frustrations.
Lol - that should've said "he" but obviously my fat fingers touched the e and r keys at the same time!
Allsopp did exactly what a goalie needs to do, parried the ball well out to the side. There was nobody picking the guy up out wide.
TBF he will be disappointed with it ( or he should be ) and so will the coaching staff. It's highly critical but he shouldn't be pushing it back into danger. The goal wasn't his fault but any pro keeper and gk coach would be disappointed with it
What else was he meant to do? Parry it into the middle of the 6 yard box? I thought he did well with it, put it away to the least dangerous area. Unfortunately there was just a completely free man there, which should have had the clear sight of goal cut out by the defence.
That isn't what I said. What I said was that I wasn't sure if Man City create a tactic (any tactic, not just the one we use) and then, because they're so dominant, people just try and copy it. Seems like a lazy explanation but anything is possible I suppose.
