Was it us or them that decided to switch the usual ends? Either way I think we can knock the theory on the head that we'd be better off playing towards the north second half
I liked Gelhardt's interview after the game, he put a decent positive spin on the situation. Bringing in 8 players was never going to make it a cakewalk but maybe they'll gel in time for the matches against teams around us.
Dont agree, Norwich looked comfotable on the ball and with £8m strikers, will always be dangerous. We are not at the bottom because of the last 3 results. They don't come much more winnable in this league than today's game I'm afraid. We're in big big trouble. Most can see it now but a few still clutching at straws, somehow
They weren't bad but they didn't look anything special. We dealt with them comfortably overall. Anyone with a functioning attack would have beaten them I reckon.Dont agree, Norwich looked comfotable on the ball and with £8m strikers, will always be dangerous. Increasingly so.Be honest, anyone think we are f...ked?
Not wanting to get into all the financial stuff again, but Baz did seem to suggest so earlier in the week.Increasingly so.
Just looking again at the remaining fixtures I'm not at all confident we get out of this.
Plymouth 5 v 1 Millwall and Plymouth 2 v WBA 1 doesn't help me see it happening. We e failed to bring in a dependable scorer (or 2), instead we bring in a hardworking young lad known for not being a natural scorer (Joseph) and fail to strengthen the 2nd most obvious weak position, so have a slow but honest CB filling in. Yet manage to bring in 3 pretty bizarre not really needed signings instead (Amrabat, Lincoln, Egan. I don't get the criticism of Mataz, to me he looks decent given he's had no time yet to adjust and settle in.
Back to the question, yes, I think we probably are tbh. . We can't win at home. We can't sustain even just back to back wins. We still don't have goals in the side (from anywhere across the team). We have FBs who good wingers can take apart. And too many strangers trying to get to know each other with only weeks remaining.
It's a mess.
Of course I hope they make me eat my words. I honestly think relegation would be disastrous for us, not the happy return like last time.

On the pitch I think we'll struggle for a good few years, off it who knows, not my area but it sounds worrying
Why only if we go down though? That's the bit I don't understandIf we go down, it will be an absolutely disaster financially and unless acun writes some serious cheques, we will be in serious serious serious trouble
Next season the tv deal for Championship clubs is worth around twelve million quid for each club. Why only if we go down though? That's the bit I don't understand
So budgeting for money we might not get then spending it? Not very cleverNext season the tv deal for Championship clubs is worth around twelve million quid for each club.
The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Yup it was clearly interfering with play, very distracting. and ref should have stopped play before the goal.Blame the squirrel
There's an obvious lack of quality all over the pitch, the subs were odd, but there are no players on the bench that can get a grip of a game and make a difference.
Crooks and Gelhardt seemed to tire out quite quickly.
That was Pedro's worst game for us IMO. Thought Macca played very well out of position. Still not convinced by Egan.
What are you talking about. Matazo was excellent once he came onwising up to the fact that we've splashed the cash on a number of players who look lost at champ level and will have no resale value at all? matazo looks another in that category last 2 games sadly, not sure what our options is but unless it's a million or less wed be overpaying
Agree other than a lack of a reliable goalscoring attacker or two is for me an even bigger issue. Add to that the fact we don't have CBs and others chipping in, some literally not at all. We simply don't have enough goals in us, only Luton and Stoke have fewer. Goals win games and that's what we have to start doing. Seriously, where are they going to come from on a now needed regular basis (not weird one offs like Sheff U). It just isn't happening and I don't really see how it changes. The biggest issue for me is at Left Back. I would rather us play with Jacob, a youth team player, or a free agent there than with SM. He’s just not good enough as a player, let alone out of position. The substitutions today didn’t offer much either apart from Matazo who at least attempted to produce something with his strojg and energetic style. Burstow was frustrating today. He misplaced half of his passes and can’t cross the ball. Much rather give someone else a chance there.
Yep. Pedro had 3 or 4 moments of absolute quality.....in the 'wrong' areas. Service to him was dire. How good can a striker play when they need to be in our half to get the ball. I thought the subs did well, they didn't change the game in our favour, but they gave us more possession, especially up the pitch
