I'd just say to watch with an open mind and no bias next time they play. You may well be surprised how many mistakes Vaughan is making. As said, not having a go at him, he's a young kid growing into men's football at this level.
I do watch without bias, I like Longman and I like Vaughan, but one of them is clearly better than the other.
GFAW you are correct. Vaughan does make a lot of mistakes which aren’t mentioned. But he usually gets himself into a good position first through ball control, technique, speed of thought etc and offers much more in a game than Longman (including the ability to take it past one or two). He does get pushed off the ball too easily but I guess you can’t have it all.
Need to remember that Harry Vaughan has not long turned 19 and has only played a handful of games for us. He's obviously a big part of Rosenior's plans but as he is physically still developing his game time will need careful managing - which I'm sure will happen.
Agree I dont expect him to nor do I want him to play all 46 games for us in the league this year. Its a long old slog this league. Hopefully some quality additions take the load off because at the moment the creativity from out wide is firmly on his shoulders
The thing with HV is where he is going to be asked to play. His style is to cut in. We dont have a typical out and out left winger that will go past a right full back if that makes sense... Theres lots of onus on the lad... what we need is to make the pitch wider, not narrower as we dont have a real pass picker either...
Both HV and RL went outside the full back once each but neither managed a decent cross in to the box. I doubt there were many in the centre to try and capitalise on it.
Vaughan and Longman are the only players who are willing to take defenders on Delap seems willing to try to get into space to get a shot off Lokilo looked like he wanted to take players on but he's not had enough time to show what he can do Other players playing on the wing want the ball put into space behind the defence It's not been possible for the team to settle down so we know what they can do.
