It's interesting that he's made this point a few times now about Puerta needing to improve his end product previously, and now doing so. It's not something I'd noticed or seen anyone else mention. Shows how managers are on a totally different plane of understanding the game to supporters at times.
That's the one. I've been in a couple of times. Nice Area. I went to a biker café a couple of miles away which does a top Full English. Called the Supersausage. http://supersausagecafe.co.uk/
To be fair, the vast majority of people on here have complained about the whole team's lack of end product all the way through the season. It's a large part of the reason why we've been down the wrong end of the table and it's been a really common theme on here for months.
Puerta has been awarded the goal against Oxford, by the dodgy goals panel, for me personally it was his goal all along…
Not that it makes a difference or that it bothers me, I would say if you took away the defender and the keeper there is no way the ball puerta kicked was going to end up in the net.
I don't recall whether I mentioned it on here, but I'd definitely said to my lad that while Puerta and Alzate are good on the ball, they've not generally created much. Our most regular midfield 3 of Slater, Alzate and Puerta have 2 goals and 2 assists between them, in 64 starts. We only have 6 players with more than 1 assist. (Kamara, Mehlem, Coyle, Belloumi, Palmer and Millar), and of those, only Coyle has been on the pitch for significantly more than 50% of the season.
Does anyone know if Palmer stayed at the club rather than going on international duty? 1904 podcast was saying there was a chance he would choose to do this
Very true. It just seems unusual to single out one player for it, and I'm surprised that it's him in particular.
I found that a strange discussion. I don't see why Kasey would or should do that. Of course there is an argument that City need him for the run-in, but that applies to pretty much any player called up for internationals, and it's generally understood that you deal with it and it's part of the package of signing an international footballer.
Kasey Palmer has had to withdraw from the Jamaica squad for their Concacaf Gold Cup qualification games against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The midfielder will continue to build up to full fitness with the Tigers, having only recently returned from an ankle injury, ahead of the final eight games of the Sky Bet Championship season.
I wonder what the figure actually is? He’s made 25 appearances in all competitions now – and he can only make a maximum of 33 appearances if he plays the rest of our games – so surely it has to be 30 if it can still be triggered but hasn’t been yet? Guess we’ll find out after the Swansea game, assuming he keeps his place in the squad.
Opta and the BBC say McLoughlin has 2 assists (from the Stoke and Oxford games). Your point still stands though, and something that I’d be concerned about if we turn all of our current loans into permanent deals.
