I can’t agree with that. I think Huddlestone looks awful these days. The occasional half decent pass doesn’t make up for the fact that he can hardly run faster than walking pace, and is easily outrun by opponents. Hence the mindless foul that led to their third goal. Thanks for the memories Tom but it’s time to get into coaching or find another career.
The others are all workrate and limited quality though, ideally need people with both and hopefully Acun’s chequebook will sort it. Other teams in this league make it look easy at times , can get into dangerous positions with 1 or 2 passes , like I said earlier , everything hard work for us, players always need that extra touch or just play it safe 5 yards behind
For opp managers it’s so obvious where our weaknesses are. Kick off they had the big guy and two others on their left wing and played it there , continued that and scored . Why can’t we see our wing back is young can’t tackle and unfortunately Jones had a bad day yesterday - he didn’t in the week . Chaz mentioned Eaves not attacking a Honeyman cross . Eaves put an on the ground cross into the 6 yd box and our winger and midfielder made no effort to get in the box at all. These are the limited mindsets or abilities we have.
Yeah, but we have all seen teams with really good players in get relegated. Just because he has money and can bring in some quality does not mean it won't fail. That's not a dig at shota, I am prepared to give him time. Just pointing it out.
and before that "Oh do **** off you boring ****" How does it go? "calm down petal"? You honestly couldn't make it up! What the hell is wrong with you? You really seem to have issues. I've no idea who has been banned. I guess they must have overstepped the mark. I'm not Newcastle's mate and I've had nothing to do with the poster getting banned, but I do think many of your continuing crude, childish replies are bang out of order and other posters shouldn't be expected to tolerate them or even have to see them. I suspect this board has lost way more than one poster due to being sick of seeing your abusive, childish responses and comments. There's absolutely no need for it. Of course, I expect the usual abusive response ........
Taken from Shota's post match comments ..... " ...... you can coach after the game when everyone’s sitting down but you need to be in a position to coach before it happens.” He's had little to no time to really coach them. It's been game after game, and they are not his players. Sometimes new managers bring a bounce, but that's normally when they've been underperforming - ours weren't as their league position was just about right for the squad we have. The coming break brings an opportunity for Shota and his assistant to focus on coaching for a few days, but what he really needs is a close season with the players. As many have said, it's just a matter of getting through to the end of the season, then hopefully the fun starts for real.
He calls someone a **** in response to a fairly innocuous comment, he gets told to wind his neck in, continues to name-call, gets thread-banned then whines about ‘free speech’ and plays the victim. Does it every week. It’s so predictable and boring.
Would imagine it’s going be an interesting summer. Thought we did ok yesterday against a form side. Mistakes killed us and not taking our chances made us look poor at times. Hopefully enough points onboard to think about summer but without stating the bleeding obvious we really do need to improve our squad as we won’t get away with inconsistency twice at this level.
It’s tedious that’s for sure. Currently have 6 on ignore. Denying them the attention the crave is the only answer.
So what does shota do everyday at training? “Just run around lads”?? Apparently he’s watched every game this season, so can he see the flaws? I see no improvement in tactics, defence or offence. Same mistakes. Same flawed team selection. We have not progressed under shota
Same like for like subs which I find strange Why not give it a go The game was passing us by at 2-0 Try something different Change it up No swear words in this post for those sensitive types But there is a function that blocks them out Just trying to help the ****s and Fannie’s
There have been games this season were its been quite obvious he is trying to change things, but I agree with you there are games were its McCannesque. The jury is still out for me with him, but I'm afraid given the squad we have and the young nature of a lot of them, you're going to get inconsistencies and mistakes. That's what we saw yesterday and for a number of games since he took over.
Not the best day at the office for some of the players. McLoughlin with the error that he always has in him. I know there is plenty of love for him on here, and he does some great stuff with that left foot, but he’s so reminiscent of early McShane when he thinks he can play football with the ball and gives it away instead. Shota also seems to be following Bruce-era tactics of subbing on strikers until one of the buggers scores. It’s actually quite entertaining in a way. Crowd issues - still the same as we discussed a few weeks ago. Hot headed young men enjoying themselves mostly without issue and one or two pushing it right over the line of being a twat. We need their peers to call them out on it, the last thing we want is a security clampdown. The lines of stewards at the north end of East stand are bad enough as it is. As for the youngsters pitch invading. While most people find pint sized pitch invaders amusing, I was a bit surprised that absolutely no move was made by security at all. Yes he was just being cheeky and meant no harm, but it was an interruption to the game, which isn’t great from a football management perspective, will end up in the refs report in the match and will attract attention from efl if we don’t keep a lid on it, because the more it happens, others think they can get away with it too. At least have a word with his dad or whoever took him. Hope whoever was getting treatment in E8/E9 is ok.

The free kick was outstanding Did I read someone say Ingram didn’t move!?? No wonder it was a brilliant goal
Luton played with 3 full backs as their centre halves yesterday really missed a trick there when we were attacking
