I think it's because of the way he plays - he wants to play the ball around, and that occasionally leads to high-profile mistakes that get a lot of attention, even if 98% of the time he's doing a good job. He does seem to be the sort of defender Rodgers loves, though: someone who can bring the ball out from the back and launch attacks.
People get hung up on how he looks. His technique looks dreadful, but he uses the ball excellently. Gets the ball forward quickly in to players who'll do something with it. It's like watching Steve Smith bat. He should be rubbish, but he isn't.
Well when I've seen him he's looked about as useful as a ****ing wardrobe. But I haven't watched him all season.
Don't forget if we happen to score tonight, none of that running down the steps to celebrate lark! People don't like it!!

Gutted Stevie G isn't there, can't give him the appreciative applause he deserves for all he's done for english football, both domestically and internationally.
Thank god Stevie G aint playing, been away down south all day and only just got home, woulda played on my mind for the rest of the season knowing I missed the last chance I'd have to see him play live. I hope both teams play like they did at the weekend and we might just get sommat from this,
I'm going for a 2-0 Liverpool win. City to have the majority of the first-half, only to concede after ~38/39 minutes. An even second-half, with Liverpool wrapping things up in injury-time. All followed up by more half arsed boos from the lethargic home support
