Oh jeez is this lot still bleating boo hoo.. maybe if your manager had started the game with an attacker you may have faired better...... then again after witnessing the finishing abilities of Hernandez (10 million?? youve had your pants down there!) maybe not!!!
You lot cannot criticise the prices of our signings when you spent £5m on Matt ****ing Mills. Apart from that though, you're right.
You could always **** off if you don't like us bleating. We're not forcing you to come onto our forum and read our posts. Congratulations on your victory, but you're still going to finish bottom of the league.
I agree, it certainly wasn't bad luck that cost us, it was poor finishing and I'd also claim a poor initial strategy for the game (maybe if we'd had a real go from the start rather than leaving it til 70 minutes we might have got a couple of goals). I would say there's an element of luck to you keeping the clean sheet and the win. At this level especially it's not often one of those chances we fluffed gets missed, nevermind the amount we missed. You were lucky that we just couldn't hit a bus on a bandstand with a biscuit barrel yesterday. If you know what I mean. Very much like our draw at Anfield. We were poor, Liverpool were also poor but still created a number of excellent chances similar to yesterday's game, we were just lucky mainly Balotelli and whoever else kept squandering them all were having a **** day that day. Although I do think luck has an effect on everything, it's just not measurable. Stokes second goal was lucky yesterday, Burnleys first...
On reflection, I feel more positive about yesterday's performance. We created a lot of chances. Hernandez showed glimpses of what might be and our defence was largely untroubled. Even ince looked like he could offer something from the bench. Now we just need Bruce to distance himself from the Newcastle job.
Put it like this, you didn't have any luck but that's not to say that we had lots of it. On another day your finishing might not be so abysmal and you might have got a point. But then again on another day we don't give you the chances that you got. It was a poor Leicester performance but it got us 3 points, i'd much rather have that than a good performance and nothing so it's swings and roundabouts, you win some you lose some and we've had our fair share of feeling like you did following yesterday's game.
no such thing as luck luck is a philosophical context was a 30 yard strike lucky because it went in? surely the aim was for it to go in.. we weren't unlucky, we just didn't get the ball in the ****ing net, and leicester had the men on the line where it mattered
We'll play worse and win. You've seen it time and again. The team is not a settled unit - result - passes go astray, defenders out of position, hamstring strains as defenders try to recover position, no training ground developed understanding between players who hardly know each other. With players like Dawson and Huddlestone out, pressure mounts on the standins. I'm convinced that the squad can settle and score goals, but needs an injury free spell to achieve it.
