confidence boosting win in the Cup. Plenty of players rested. Near to a fully fit squad. Things are coming together now. My one gripe is nige not taking Bowen off after 60 minutes. He's a definite starter for Tuesday why risk him like that. And he played on the right nige, ok!! Some good displays throughout the team yesterday but this is my team. Mcgregor Tomori Dawson Mazuch Aina Bowen Meyler Larsson Growshitski Irvine Dicko I think Dicko did just enough to keep his place. I would have played Evandro yesterday, he needs match fitness. I like him but irvines work rate is superior and he gets back and nicks the ball off their midfield. Wins just about every header too. Think Campbell will be better coming off the bench. Keane s a good option too, to hold the ball up. As well as henriksen did, and I'm pleased he had a good game, Larsson and Meyler are first choice in what's going to be a battle. Stewart is very weak in the challenge. Growshitski should play but if not go Irvine left midfield and play two forwards. Climb up the table starts with this one. City 3-1.

I'm unsure about the team in this one , big plus of yesterday's game was Henriksen getting in the box from one of the deeper midfielder positions , meaning at times we had 5 players in there . I don't rate Henriksen much but if we go back to Larson / Meyler or Stewart then that's much less likely to happen ... I'd maybe go Same team but with Evandro for Meyler and Campbell for Dicko
Actually thinking about it, I wouldn't complain too much if we selected same team as yesterday but with Grosicki for diomande, enjoyed yesterday's game more than any in a while - wouldn't have a problem backing the same lads again , only problem is as I said yesterday will they be allowed to play like that again or will Nigel set up for a point
It’s fair enough to take the piss out of Diomande for spending half the game on his arse, I do it myself. But when they had the ball he worked their wide men like a bastard, in a way that Grosicki never will.
Meyler - arf - as I keep reminding you - we win when he doesn't play, we won yesterday because we kept the ball - Meyler constantly loses the ball, passes directly into touch or passes to the opposition, gives away needless freekicks and stays up half the night playing FIFA so he's knackered - theres no way he should even bother the bench
