At this stage it would be poor management not to rest Marshall and put Jak back in. That's not Marshall bashing it's simply the right thing to do after his obvious error that cost us all three valuable points. Give your head a shake Phelan, you rested Mason, why not rest Marshall? Is there any sensible reason this shouldn't happen?
If that's the case, he should have taken Mbokani out and anyone else who was in his way to get good contact on the ball.
We don't have RB/RWB at all after tomorrow, that was exactly my point. We're obviously not going to play Snodgrass there.
Ah, you're referring to other commitments, it wasn't clear. Needs must from Snodgrass, he hasn't got 90 mins, but ...
You posted that we shouldn't be wasting money on a right back as we didn't need one, I was merely pointing out that shortly we won't have a single right back or right wing back in the squad, so we do need one.
Is it just me, but he looks as if he has lost a lot of weight and is now not as affective as he used to be possibly because of that?
So in a ***an regime, bearing in mind the squad we have, would you buy a RB or a RWB? Or a decent striker?
We already know Phelan is trying to bring in a RB/RWB (one player) and a striker, exactly as he should be, replacing the players we're losing and are already short of is a minimum requirement.
No we don't; the only thing I have seen or heard is mention of a right back, which makes **** all sense as we don't have a left back.
Robertson? Tymon? And don't say Robertson is a LWB. He's playing it because needs must dictate we are playing 3 5 2. And yes, defending is his weakest suit as a left back but that's to be expected from a younger player, with still limited experience at this level. LWB will dispose this frailty more than LB as he has less support. Though he stepped up on odd occasions, I too would question Tymon's ability to do it week in, week out if Robertson was injured..and certainly NOT as a LWB, too big a step up. Ideally would like someone who can play left and right back, but then unlikely to then play RWB and LWB too. Rosenior struggled with the latter two.
Thought he played well at what Meyler does for an hour vs Everton, gave the ball away less than Livermore (who some describe as having a worldie) and set up our first goal with a 25 yard defence splitting pass. Though I haven't had a drink this year, so may be just hallucinating
