I thought we were comfortable over 90 mins without getting out of second gear. Crewe had one chance in the first half which Long did well to save and none in the second. Not a classic, but a clean sheet and a win on penalty's, what's not to like ?
I was just waiting for the second half to kick off when I saw the result on FB, then I go back to the link & see the full bit there!
No wonder we was lacklustre, having to play two teams at the same time would’ve been tiring... Come on Yorkshire Post get a grip !!
I see that Jon Parkin will be doing the draw for Round 3 on Thursday. Each of the teams will be represented by a dough ball which Jon will eat before moving on to drawing the next team.
As usual I didn't get up in the middle of the night to watch it, and by all accounts, I didn't miss much. I was a bit surprised that Terry went with the team he did, but this time at least had a decent bench. Nevertheless, got the job done, so next round it is then.
I thought we were poor in the first half and improved in the second. We were the better team but we didn't really create any clear cut chances. Crewe were nearer to scoring than we were. Still, we scraped through. I guess it showed that our second string are ok but no great shakes. Any one of them could move up into the first team without a great detriment but more than one and we would be seriously weakened.
Question Mr McCann.... you've known about this game for 2 weeks... you knew that you were likely to change the entire team barring one or two... and yet you say you've only had one day with the team.... ?....
Hull City midfielders Greg Docherty and George Honeyman are to take part in an exclusive Q&A session with Members this week. In a year that has seen reduced opportunities for players and supporters to mix, we’re opening up the chance to meet ‘virtually’ during a Zoom session hosted by the Tigers this Thursday, 10th December, from 7pm-7.45pm. Entry to the session is for Members only, with limited numbers to be selected. For your chance to take part, simply complete the form which is available to fill in online by clicking here. The form also includes a section for you to submit your question to either Greg or George, with the best to be put to the player on the night. We look forward to seeing some of you online soon!
Not really. How many saves did their keeper make? According to the on screen stats we had two shots on target. Crewe had one.
Hull City chances: First half - Docherty - clear shot wide - 12 yards Second half - Scott - unmarked header wide - 9 yards Coyle - clear shot saved - 9 years The other shot on target was by Docherty which was weak and saved - 20 yards Scott should have scored and Docherty should have been on target and Coyle should have not shot straight at the keeper.
