A friend of mine and Tworights had the same thing happen to him. He had testicular cancer and was urging all blokes to check themselves regularly, then one day at the game there was a letter from the Club on his seat saying they was sorry to read about his problem. It said they was there for him if he needed it.
Fantastic by the Club for both letters. <applause>

Was speaking to some in Ebeneezers after game. Good bunch of blokes, older fans. Had been in before game, it was packed with them then, and come back in as they couldn’t believe the prices and thought the quality of drinks and friendly service was great as well. They were very complimentary about Hull itself and how friendly people were.

Gelhardt was gutted after the game. I'm not sure who he was talking to but the camera showed him say "It's my ****ing fault".

Conversely I was mid-piss at St Stephen’s toilets about lunchtime when 4 or 5 mid-teen Charlton fans in full colours came in then started singing some Charlton song when they saw another guy in there with a City coat on (I don’t wear colours). It was probably the least intimidated I’ve ever been in a football context and I actually found it quite sweet to be honest, more Schooligan than seasoned hooligan.

Doesn't matter, they've not won at home all season, in the relegation zone, we are on a run of good form and 3 points will put us in the play-off positions. We all know how it's going to end.

I thought it was an even game, they could have been out if site early on, but second half just couldn’t kill it off, gutted to concede so late, but I think a draw is fair result overall.

We were in there pre-game and one of what seems like the same bunch of lads said to one of our lot that he'd ordered his round, and tentatively offered a twenty quid note to the bar maid, not being sure it would be enough, and he couldn't belive it when he got a handful of change. He said it was an absolute bargain compared to what he'd paid in the boozer in london before they'd got the train up.

The bloke I was talking to was stood next to me waiting for his first drink at dinner time and I ordered two points of John Smiths and he saw me give barmaid a £10 note and get a fiver and some silver as change. He said to me has she charged you right? Barmaid heard him and said to him yes love, charged him right it’s £2.30 a pint.
He got a pint of Guinness. Next time I went to bar he said to me unbelievable in here I’ll be back after match before we get train at 6.30. As I said in previous post he was impressed with the service and friendliness of bar staff and customers and how there was no reaction on the door and inside about Charlton fans coming in. Last words on the night from them was well see you next season as will definitely be in here again.

    Memo to self,
Although you always stand your round you really must visit the bar next time you're in there. :emoticon-0103-cool:

I hope you're not suggesting Ebeneezers is a spoons! That place is across the road, it's where the riff raff go for cheap beer.
