Ryan Woods has been quite consistent this season so I think he's been unfortunate to miss more playing time recently. Sterner tests than Cardiff and QPR (in their present form) are to come.

I don't think his ablity is in doubt, just he's been doing more graft and less showboating recently. I'm not saying he's underplayed though. Just feel he makes a difference, especially off the bench. We've won the last 2 he's started though so I don't really understand the navel gazing and having to look for a negative amongst the positives? Does he start on the right with Ebiowei fully fit? Probably not.

I don’t. He’s a Poundland version of Seri. Only reason he should be playing is if Seri isn’t.

Your feelings are100% correct. Dislike 'The Potteries' as an area despite my mother coming from there and hope those 1 out of 11 stats can change (even though she told me she dated Sir Stanley Matthews! I've no reason to disbelieve)

And we got him on a free, whereas we paid something like 3 million for Tufan

In the current market compared to back then Tufan basically is a free. We got the likes of James Chester for £300k, iirc David Meyler and Robert Brady cost £1m each. Matthew Fryatt a proven goal scorer I am sure was £1.5m.

Compare that to now Chester would be about £5m, Meyler and Brady about £10m and Fryatt… Christ. £15m easy.

3m is still a significant fee in today's Championship, particularly post-COVID. For a non-parachute payment team that's a significant outlay.

Even more so when you factor in the fact that the players combining for our goal on saturday cost a total of 50k

Trouble is we're competing with parachute clubs with some players coming down from the Prem with 20m + values.

In the greater scheme 3m players aren't amongst the bigger ones in this league, though are obviously going to be significant for a club of our current stature and in relation to other non parachute clubs.

Problem with the current status quo however is the championship is basically 2 leagues in 1 as far as finances are concerned. We were told we were budgeting around top 10 at the start of the season and that's around where we'll likely end up.

Here is the only post on this entire forum about Philogene that isn’t in the transfer thread, for everyone’s info.

Sounds like he had a good game that day but very wasteful going by Johns comment.
