Good to hear from you anyway mate. Not seen you on here much over the summer. Hope all is good with you and yours.
sorry i thought viking was a bit ****- yakking on about bollocks and oh theres a goal- where the **** did that come from guys?? and some call burnsie and swannie ? - no improvement but thats just my opinion
That game was handed to us on a plate and could have been 10-3 in the end. Bigger test on Tuesday. When it clicks we're decent, but a few injuries and loss of form could leave us exposed. More players needed by which i mean ready to go starters. Encouraging all the same. Hector is decent and can make a pass. All hail the Slut.
Listened to full commentary on Viking 2 on DAB, without any problems, have to say they were ok, but I liked the Burns` and Swan commentaries in all honesty. Viking commentator was too busy looking at Burton`s bench and missed City`s third goal (schoolboy error). Brian Hughes the expert summarisor even mentioned about bringing Grosicki over to the right to protect Aina first half saying he would put some challenges in ! I`m sure they will grow on me but sounded very amateurish in all honesty. As for the game it seems quite evident that both full backs are being left exposed, while Clarke tried manfully to repel his borders, Aina was completely overrun without answers in the first half. While we could and should have scored more, Burton exposed us down the flanks too easily prior to the sending off, against Wolves we need to be tighter, because they will punish us. Pleased with the result, and nice to see Abel up and running at full speed, Hector sounds a proper player and Clucas seemed to be back on his game. TWT how we fair this season, but there are definite positives, but we are also a work in progress.
Ehab is a mad man. Spend a bit of money, and i do mean a bit and we'll get out of this league again. Give the manager and the lads a chance by investing in them. Seriously, a new left back, right back, winger for the first team and a striker to come off the bench and alternate with FC and we're laughing.
I didn't. But if Clucas, Grosicki and Hernandez do move on, and are not replaced, then, when Daws gets his inevitable injury, we could be battling at the wrong end. On the other hand, IF the long awaited further 4 or 5 quality signings arrive, we could be going up. As you rightly say, literally anything can still happen!
Well, we made hard work of it in the first half, started like a train, went 1-0 up, then let them get back into the game. Aina had a mare in the first half, was far to casual, but thankful improved in the 2nd. We look a bit light weight in midfield and for the last 20/25 minutes in the first half lost it until the sending off, hopefully Stewart in there will beef it up. Hernandez look sharp, Campbell did well and worked his socks off, Clark did OK at left back, and I really like the look of Hector, who will get better.
Sending off finished Burton's hopes. All things considered we scored 4 and did the bizz against average opponents. We can only get better and given a fair crack injury and suspension wise we surely will do. Most know what all need player wise and whilst some of our lot will relish this standard of football, sterner more demanding fixtures lay ahead but never the less,a good confidence booster for midweek. UTT
Lets not get carried away, even with 11 men Burton were dogtod, but still managed to give us problems.. We could have declared at h/t if we had taken the chances. If we fail to take chances and let teams back into the game with poor defensive displays then mid-table is on the cards.
We looked good today against very limited opponents. Their only player of note was the Aussie Irvine who scored but then failed to curb his tackle reflex and got sent off. They were clueless after that. Hernandez deadly, Campbell tireless, Henriksen quietly efficient and pivotal. Hector is a defensive troll - none shall pass. Aina seems to need 30 minutes to get into a game then looks awesome. Nerves perhaps.
Hector very impressive...Big unit...Solid. Cool on the ball, picks out a tidy pass. He is a Chelsea player and by the way they've started today it might not be long before he's in their first team
Harry left a big hole. Chelski booed off at Half time I hear. Had to look twice at half time score, coupon wrecker or what.
Chelsea started a couple of season ago as champions and scrapped a 2-2 with Swansea. Conte might be on borrowed time and we all know who Roman will hire... one Lenny Slutski
In all seriousness I was thinking that - it looks highly likely that Conte won't see it out until Jan so who would they get? Simeone? Allegri? Terry? There aren't many Stellar candidates.
I'd agree with all if that, apart from Clucas. I thought he didn't look himself at all today, very poor and disinterested in the first half, though he improved in the second half (as did everyone else).
With 0 games played, I didn’t think we’d win the league. With 2 games played and 4 pts accumulated, I still don’t think we’ll win the league. With 0 games played, I thought the chances of us being relegated were very low and would have only considered something in excess 50-1 as any real representation of value. In short, I wouldn’t have taken the bet on as I 99% don’t think it’ll happen. With 2 games played and 4 pts accumulated, I think the chances of us being relegated are even lower than my first prognosis. We’ve been ran poorly but I felt it was reasonably clear that, bar an injury special, we possessed the personnel to be mid table at worst. I know this division fairly well and by and large, it’s pretty ****. I know our first eleven fairly well and in this division’s terms, it’s pretty good. I think that some of the reactions to the team in the build up to the season were a bit embarrassing, the sort of hysteria you’d see on a SAFC or NUFC forum. We might lose on Tuesday and on Saturday, convincingly, and I still won’t think that we’ll be going down.
