now the good feeling has died down a little anyone else getting a bit worried <laugh>

On a great run. Playing good football, nige has Toral firing now, Bolton are terrible and at the bottom, going to be a big crowd of around 7000...gulp

    Nah surely not.

We'll win. Kamil will tear his full back a new one. Bowen will carry on scoring and Dicko will come on.
    It is written.
    Come on City

I've said it every game since the run started so I'm sticking with 3-1... Hopefully it's good luck

Bolton is the largest town in Britain.

The running spike was created in Bolton, by the company that became Reebok.

The Captains of the RMS Carpathia and SS Californian that were involved in the rescue of Titanic passengers were both from Bolton.

The great grandfather of the Von Trapp's from the sound of music was from Bolton, and invented the self propelled torpedo.

An asylum seeker rang police to say she was fed up of living in Bolton and asked to be taken back to war torn Afghanistan.

Bolton hold the record for being in the top flight for the longest time, without ever winning the title.

Bolton has one of the top mountain rescue teams in the country - despite not having any mountains.

The ice cream wafer sandwich was invented in Bolton.

Most disposable bedpans in the world are made in Bolton

The most famous quote in British sporting history was uttered by a Bolton commentator. When England won the World Cup in 1966 it was Farnworth-born Kenneth Wolstenholme who uttered the immortal words "There's some people on the pitch. They think it's all over...it is now."

As there is no public transport in Hull on NYD, I do wonder if this crowd will be a stinker.

Point of order...Though the Californian was the closest vessel to the Titanic, It didn't save a soul as the radio operator had gone to bed and turned off his machine.
The officers on watch that evening, thought the distress flares fired from the Titanic were company signals and totally ignored them. The Carpathia was the only vessel to go to the aid of the Titanic, though it arrived on scene two hours after it had sank..

Hard to think,, at least to anyone who went there in the early 70s, that later in the 1970s they got over 50,000 in that ground for a Cup game against Sunderland. Massive crowds at times down the years from a smallish population.
First lot that ever caused trouble at BP in a major way, storming across the car park chanting "Don't come to Bolton" and scattering everyone who hadn't encountered this sort of thing before.

I know we did. Memorable day out.<laugh> Which why I was saying anyone who saw that ground in 1971 would be surprised to think of over 50,000 packed in there.

The car park thing was 1967. Unexpected. A bit behind what was going on elsewhere in those days.

Fighting all over the pitch in the early 70s - good city turnout - I went in a friend's car a couple of seasons later when we played them again - was expecting repeat performance - there was 12 of us - I was told most of city had gone to watch man u - got kicked about on the car park on the way into the game only to get a good kicking inside the ground - no different to many grounds at the time

When is Manager of the Month awarded?

Because if it is before this game, we'll lose.
